i wanna get my ear pierced at claires n im a guy but is it ok for men to do it there??

yeah u can go if ur a guy! no problem, but i would advise u not to do it there, at claires i mean. one of my best mates works there and she is the stupidest person ever and they allow her to pierce kids ears....so i wouldnt trust um plus i have heard of so many stories of people who have to gone to claires and have had alot of prblems with the ear weeping and infections etc...
go to a better more specialised place.. if can! some good tattoo parlours do peircings too...check um out

As far as the gender issue, dont worry about it... but dont go to claires to get pierced anyway...
Piercing with a gun is not a method approved by the APP, and is technicaly blunt fource truma. The people who work at claires or similar places have no training, and the equipment usually isnt cleaned properly. There is a reason the piercing at these places is free and you only pay for the jewlrey.
Go to a professional piercer who is APP approved... It will cost a bit more, but your ears will thank you

i agree with fhra - the gun used at claires is probably the worst way to pierce ears (short of a rusty safety pin) it's not sterile (you can't sterilise all the parts of the gun, so no guarantees of safety there) and it'll cause more trauma to the ear and piercing because of the method
your best bet is to go to a professional piercer, who will pierce with a sterile needle and put good quality jewellery in your ears - if you consider claires jewellery is generally made out of plastic or cheap metal, is that what you want going into your new piercing?

NO! My first ear piercing was there, and the gun they used crushed the cartlage in my ear, and really messed my ear up for a while. Go to a good piercer, they usually set up shop at tattoo parlors, and use a nice sharp needle instead of the blunt peice of steel that they force through your ear at a claires. Male or Female, its not a good way to go.

as far as the guy question, its fine. no one will care. but, if you can find a better place than claires, i'd do it. you want a place that has the earring separated in their own little packet and then they put the cartridge into the gun.
i have 3 holes in each ear. i went to piercing pagoda for 2 and walmart for the third. both were excellent.

Of course you can! I got mine done at Claires in Brent Cross, London..the staff were really nice and friendly. I have two earings in each ear now!

Dont see why not.
The thing with Claires - althou a bit girly - is its clean and professional and they do 100000s a year.
They don't rip you off and they advise on after care.
This has got to be a good option guy or girl.
Just laugh any silly comments off.
Better than a needle and some ice trying to be manly!!!
