When will tattoos stop being trendy so dumb people with crappy fake tribal flash art stop taking up all the space in tattoo shops?

By space I meant appoinments.....I noticed how lately a lotta places are booked and have a waiting list.

The fake tribal flash art comment....eh it is what it is.

Yeah all my tattoos are custom I put in a lot of thought and time into em and it just pisses me off that over the past few years that people like tattoos all of a sudden.... eh

I agree but once again to each their own. Look at it this way. If all the idiots get the crappy cliche tattoos than that leaves the really good pieces of true art and/or expression to the people that really deserve them if you will. I don't believe that all tattoos have to be deeply personal or religious to get but if it works out that way than all the power to you. I have 3 tattoos.
A full sleeve involving a scarecrow halloween theme in all color
A tribalistic dragon on my right shoulder
And a gnarled looking skull version of the masks of comedy & tragedy

the artists i go to won't do crappy flash OR tribal so even tho they may be booked up for a while in advance i know that all of the tattoos they are doing are custom pieces of work. i have seen my artist turn down doing crappy tattoos before basically just saying:

"that isn't a good tattoo design and there is no way that i can tattoo that or anything like that on you and put my name on it, you should go somewhere else and get another artist to do it."

so... maybe you're not going to the right artist? i feel that artists who ONLY do custom pieces are more creative than ones who do both original designs and flash.

Hmm, so many dumb questions. I suppose my favorite must be "why do women get tattoos?" followed up with some remark that makes women out to be purely for the enjoyment of men & how tattoos "ruin" their bodies. Dunno, but if I wanted a pet I'd go to the pet store. I want a smart woman who can challenge me and a close friend I can confide - in addition to the more prurient activities. :) I suppose those people (mostly men, but not always) are just insecure about their manhood and need to prop up their failing egos. I suppose I could also feel pity for them... Addendum: Note that these are not the same people who are honestly curious & without the implication of women as second class citizens, although the stupid queries outnumber the honest ones by a large margin.

I think it's the same the world over people follow public figures and especially when those such as David Beckam and such like are setting the trend there are gonna be ppl tryin 2 copy it, I have several tattoo's
1/ chinese dragon
2/rose and thorns
3/celtic band
4/loveheart
I am also planning 2 go get a sleeve done at £65ph of my own design and very feminine with a lot of bright colours .

i certainly am against crappy tattoo's but i'm against anything crappy for that matter. I currently have one tattoo and it is very meaningful and fairly deep, but i have an appointment for another in a week and its not deep at all, i just love the design. By the way, i don't think a permanent tattoo can really be classified as trendy anyway.

What is your problem? People are finally coming around to accept tattooing as a art form and there is nothing wrong with that. They are also making some artists out there, whom were struggling to pay the bills, alot wealthier. So deal with it! Tattooing's time has come!

To each his own. If you don't like what is going on how do you know that so much space is being taken up? I don't have any tattoos but you know they are so nice to see when done right. When some one gets a tribal tattoo done it is not because they are from a specific tribe...Intelligence would have told you that, They get it because it looks good...Do you have any? If you do what is the story behind it...To each his own....

well for me, my tattoos are all very personal and each one has a meaning. I dont care whats on the wall because I already know what I want. Its like looking at picture frames in the mall and trying to find your face in one of the pix.

Oh and when I go to work you cant see any of them. Its not for everyone else to see, its for me.

I'm kinda sick of people who are TOO into their tattoos. Meaning they think they are soooo important and they have to mean something deep. I like a person who fully admits, I'm getting this because it looks cool. I'm not saying don't put thought into it, but it doesnt have to describe your whole freaking life story.
