I know that dying it blond would damage it. Does hair get damaged when it is dyed a darker shade?

I just colored my hair and then added highlights. Needless to say, the highlights turned out red. How can I tone them down? Is there a product I can get at Walmart to help tone them down?

okay. my hair is currently blonde in the front
and brown in the back. here's a picture:

my roots are showing alot now
in order to do them over, i have to bleach it again, and I don't want to risk my hair falling out
because it was bleached 31/2 times
i was thinking about dying it all black
and leaving it likt that
my natural hair color is close to black, so i'm not worried about it looking bad on me
i want to know, if it would be a good decision to go ahead and do that
or if i should just bleach the blonde part over again.

ok.. This weekend I am goin to be meeting this guy for the first time in person! there's fair skin, tan skin, and dark skin
then there's girls who go tanning salons or hit the beach just for the sake of a tan, and girls who don't tan and burn instead, and there's girls who are naturally tan.
