there are all kinds of different star styles. you are probably talking about a nautical star. one who's points are separated into two different colors?

There a lots of varieties of stars. My guess is that its a nautical star since they are very common now a days.
Chances are, its just a star of some type on an elbow. I don't think it has any huge significance.

I got the same stars on my inner arm right under my elbow bend. I LOVE THEM!
I got them on New Years Day!

Isn't just a solid star? I have seen it on so many people. A tattoo artist should know just what you are talking about. If not you can probably find a picture on the Internet and bring it with you.
