Let me explain what I looked like in the 8th grade. I wasn't TERRIBLE...but I had braces, was pretty white, and chunky...I mean come on, it was the 8th grade.

There was this guy I went to school with, and he hasn't seen me since then because I moved. But I found out today from a friend that somehow I was brought up in the conversation and he was like "Dude, that girl is ugly!"

So yeah...it kind of hurts. I can tell he's grown up a lot since then.

It's not like I'm repulsive...and he hasn't seen me in a long time. I've got a boyfriend (not that it matters). Should I let this get to me? Because not only am I embaressed, but it hurts my feelings also. I hate to sound superficial...but nobody likes to feel ugly.

What do you think about this?

Magazines are mostly targeted towards teenage girls that feature ‘normal real life people.’ They all have the perfect hair, perfect make-up, perfect skin, and basically perfect everything. Since mostly all the girls see that this is ‘normal’ they start to feel that they aren’t good enough when they really are normal and this causes low self-esteem.
What they don’t know is that almost every person they see on a magazine cover is wearing a ton of make-up and is re-touched on a computer to make ever face you see grazing every magazine cover ‘perfect.’

Beauty magazines are all full of tips on how to look your best and they are full of tips on how to make yourself over. They tell you where to get your clothes, how to get that hairdo like that celebrity you saw on last weeks cover, what shoes go with what, etc. The magazine is basically giving you a message that tells you that ‘there is something wrong with you’ and you need to change.

Im about 5'11 short brown hair, hazel eyes, white skin (not very tan), regular built and im 18 yrs old. I have been havin trouble lately.

Im always doubting my looks, not like i think im ugly but i dont think im attractive anymore. I need ideas of what i can do to make my self more attractive. I can get pics of my self if necessary.

ok so tomorrow i am wearing my hollister wool grey sweater with a white and brown cami. i guess im going to scrunch my hair and i want to know what i should do to it. should i take my bangs and pin them back with a little "poof". or should i leave my bangs and put a brown and white thick headband. or should i just leave it plain scrunched?

hello,my hair is really dryish and i can't cut it anymore because i dont want short hair:\ my hair is near my shoulders almost
i have some split ends and when i use a comb at the bottoms of my hair little hairs fall out my hair is frizzy-ish poofy and i have to use a straightener but i think the straightener im using is causing this problem because it's every day use
i wanna grow myhair longer like it used to be
but my hair doesn't grow that much
what should i do to make it grow faster
is the reason why my hair doesn't grow fast because it's dry-ish and has split ends?
