honey, it's common sense.
that's why i haven't gotten any tattoos in places that would change much if i lost or gained weight.
pick your ankle, or something like that.
if you mean, why didn't your tattoo artist tell you, they aren't obligated to do so.

Age and other normal body changes like gaining or loosing weight will effect the appearance of the tattoo. I think it is sad when someone who is interested in a tattoo jumps into it without doing research first.
However, there are options out there. If the tattoo isn't extremely big, you could try to get it redone, add some more detail to it to make it seem less distorted, or cover it completely.
But . . . if you gain or loose weight again, or grow older (which you will), the revised tattoo will change as well.
Laser removal is also available, but It is expensive, and I hear it is quite painful.

LOOKS: sleeves are totally sexy if they are done right. i hate it when people try to take up every mm of skin and it looks like a jumbled mess. i have a half sleeve (forearm) but i totally leave space so the eye can really absorb everything. the one thing that really looks nasty is if there is too much blue in the the sleeve. try to contrast your colors. maybe try just the forearm or the upper portion of your arm first before you proceed with the whole sleeve. NEVER GET A TATTOO BECAUSE OF SOMEONE ELSE. IF YOU THINK THAT ITS JUST GOING TO MAKE YOU LOOK COOL CHANCES ARE THEY ARENT FOR YOU. THEY REALLY HAVE TO MEAN SOMETHING OR ELSE YOU WILL REGRET IT (NOT TO SAY THIS IS YOUR SITUATION)! DONT FORGET WE GET OLD BUT THEN AGAIN WE ONLY LIVE ONCE SO IF I WANT SOMETHING I GO FOR IT! PRICE: when doing a sleeve artist charge by the hour. depending on how fast they work they charge anywhere between $100USD and $200USD per hour. you will probably need anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on how much detail you want. GOOD LUCK!

it's strange how a fad will sweep around...I have a tattoo, but it was common for bikers,(i are one) and service Veterans,( I are one of those, too), to have tattoos, not so common for anyone else.
People should think things through for themselves, and you're not alone in being unhappy with the choice. As more people get tattoos, so do more and more go to pay thousands of dollars to get a hundred dollar tat removed, this ain't a hairstyle, or piece of jewelry, you're permanently changing your body , and the tattoo will change, too. just look at anybody who's had one for twenty or thirty years.

Because tattoos are a waste..
Yes, I am tattooed myself.
Just make do my friend and wait around for the future of tattoo removal..
The future of tattoo removal seems to be very promising. Costs of machines and services are coming down all the time. Four years ago it cost $10,000 to laser off a fist sized tattoo, and now it costs around $500.
New methods are constantly emerging as well. ImmuDyne, Inc. now manufactures a yeast extract called Nayad that stimulates the immune system. There are studies being conducted to see how effective stimulated macrophages are in engulfing dye particles and drawing them to local nymph systems. This method would eliminate all of the patients' tattoos.
As this industry grows further and further, communication and competition will only make future methods and equipment more efficient, more effective, and less expensive.
Bottom line... hang in there! And don't dwell on it! Unitl they make a time-machine... there is no sense in beating yourself up over it!
God Bless

Because most people with tattoos know that can happen. Same with pregnancy and getting stomach/abdomen tattoos.
Also, its seems somewhat obvious to me that something like that can and does happen to people.

but wrinkly saggy skin is wrinkly saggy skin, just with a blob of color on it.
i don't know about you, but i live in the moment, not for something that is years away.
when I'm in a nursing home, i have better things worry about, like not loosing my bowels in my underwear.

My ex-wife got a tattoo of a Butterfly on one of her Breast. 20 years later it looked like one of those California Condor Birds. That's why we are now divorced.... the horror
