There's SOOO many options, but I'll list the best I've ever tried:
M.A.X. Factor Magic Wand (Green Brush)-it's affordable, but does the job amazingly. The wand is the main cause, because it has bristles that allow each individual lash to lengthen naturally.
Christian Dior DIORSHOW-absolutely the best!! used inclusively both in runway shows and Harper's Bazaar, this mascara is swore-upon by anything...I personally swear by it's miracle-making results.
And for a great eyelash curler, I recommend Shu Uerumen or Shiseido.

If you check out the makeup aisle at your local drug store, you'll find some new types of mascara with two ends. One end is a white "extender." You apply it first and let dry. Next, you apply the color from the other end and let dry. Once fully dry, the long lashes you've created will curl easily. Another good idea is to get an electric eyelash curler. They warm up, and curl along the same lines as a curling iron would.

You should try Clinique's Long Pretty Lashes, High Definition or High Impact mascara. I also like Lancome L'Extreme mascara. If you're looking for something a little less expensive then you should try Avon Astonishing Lengths or Daring Curves mascara. I've tried Estee Lauder and Elizabeth Arden but by the end of the day you end up with racoon eyes. I've also tried Clarins mascara and I was not impressed. Hope you give some of them a try. Good luck!

I use Cover Girl Advanced Lash. It works really well and there is no flaking after using the eyelash curler. I curl apply two coats and let it dry and then curl again. I have not had problems with it flaking.

I also curl my lashes after using mascara (it makes the curl last so much longer!) I use Mary Kay lash lengthening mascara and I've never had any issues with it flaking.

Honestly, I just curl before I put the mascara on. Works just the same as long as you're not pulling crazily on your eyelashes with the mascara brush. :)
