I am painting pictures and have just started in Acrylics and don't really know much about them. I find it frustrating that the paint dries so quickly, and so when doing a large area it does not go on smoothly because it dries so quickly. I'm looking for something that will help with the flow of paint.

This is driving me crazy. we have an old painting or Etching from the Napoleonic War. the painting was done by C. Wolff. I can not find anything about this person. all i know is that the painting was handed down by a friend who passed away. She was 104 yrs old. She said in the painting was her Great, great grandfather who was polish and faught this war.. it is an amazing painting. the painter sounds german. a few things on this painting.. bernauer str 14 berlin, n.... cu (or ii ) rufsier.... einigkeit...and macht stark.

i have no clue what these mean but when i do searches, everything goes to music? I do not know where to find an art historian for this kind of work. im lost.

if a pic would help i can provide it.

Sorta like Picasso's Don Quixote, but the figures look more like aliens. I'm remembering longish arms and bald heads. Is it Dali? Picasso?

I've rollered a canvas with duck egg blue emulsion, but now want to paint some patterns on it. What is the best paint to use? Watercolours or acrylic? (I tried painting some intricate designs with the blue emulsion i'd mixed, but it was just too thick, plus it just doesn't look 'deep' enough!)

I've searched for this artist for close to a year and I can't seem to get any info..what I do know is that he was born in 1921 in Frankfurt Germany he studied under Prof Steinhardt at the Academy of Munich. He then studied under Prof. Klampen at the Academy of fine arts in Vienna . He mainly painted (oils) landscapes of Germany.
I checked on the web for these schools and came up with nothing....I would greatly appreciate any of your knowledge.
Thanks
p.s the info that is above was printed on the back of one of his paintings that I own..it's a sofa painting
