Actually if you mix a secondary color with a opposite primary you get brown. (some people did not give you correct answers) You could also call this mixing Complimentary colors. Which are blue and orange mixed. Purple and yellow mixed. Red and Green mixed.

To create on your palette:
First mix:
red + yellow = orange
Yellow + blue = green
red + blue = purple.

Then mix these individually as follows:
Mix orange with blue.
Mix green with red.
Mix Purple with yellow.

Each of these combinations will give you a different hue of brown. For example: the mix of purple with yellow= a brown that is kinda reddish creamy.

a mix of the green and red= a brown that is darker hued and slightly muggy.

What Shamrocks said is wrong. Red and blue make purple, not brown. Red and yellow make orange, yellow and blue makes green. I'm thinking that maybe if you mix all of them together but maybe add more red than the rest of the colors you should get some kind of brown color.

Brown is a kind of yellow. So by adding its complemantary color that is purple to yellow you will make brown. That is you will tint the yellow till you will get a dull version of it. Also you can add a little blue to make it cooler or red to make it warmer. Also adding grey to yellow will make a brown color, though it will not be as intense and rich.
hope it helps

Actually, red mixed with green will make a brown. From those three colors, the primaries, you would have to mix all three together in order to make a brown tone.

to create brown is tricky what you would have to do is experiment with purple which you get by mixing blue and red and then adding a little of green and or orange to that and just do that until you reach the brown which you desire

I think RED and GREEN make brown, and since YELLOW and BLUE make GREEN, I would guess all three.

Have some fun. Borrow some crayons and give it a try.

green and orange
maroon and green
orange and maroon
any secondary colour with it's oposite secondary colour
actually the rule is any secondary colour with it's opposite primary colour
so you would truly need one of the red yellow or blue

I think that you mix a whole bunch of colors together until it looks like brown. If you have black though, you can mix black and purple, and it turns out brown.
