It depends on 'who you ask'. It is a green. Here are a few visuals to illustrate:

go to the paint shop...sage is like a dirty green......if you have the herb sage in your cupboard, put it on a paper towel and smudge a damp finger over it...the color left on the paper towel will be sage green. Lowe's or Home Depot has a very large paint section...with millions of paint chips on paper...you can get all the free paint chips you want of every color in the rainbow. :-)

The color sage looks like a seasick avacado ( a light grayish green)

I believe you have to buy some sage... and then make green and tone it down with gray...
That's the way I'd do it
