i have always wanted to paint, but i have never tried before. so could you guys give me some advice for and easy start up? what is the easiest to work with, what basics i need, all that stuff. i dont have a lot of cash, the reason i never started, but i am at a point in my life that i truly want to do this.

i dont want to do protraits, i just dont think i have the talent for that, maybe abstract or impressionism. something a little more forgiving for a novice.

Will a giclee capture the texture of an original oil painting? I fell in love with the work of a particular artist on ebay (link below) who uses heavy palette-knife technique and was wondering if it would transfer? The description states it is hand-embellished.

Thank you!!

Seem to be having trouble with differing shades of green and feel I would be better off having different tubes of green hues , like green-grey, green-blue, lawn grass green, etc. Is this cheating??? I seem to be inclined to maybe muddy up the greens when mixing on the palette. What are the separate shades I should purchase for some of these differing shades of green or at least could someone tell me the colours to put together for grey/green for distant greens??? Thank you.

My mother had bought this print for my grandparents at least 50 years ago. The woman was sitting at a black grand piano, the red dress she had on was very full, she was half sitting and half standing as a man in a black suit holding a violin in his right hand was lifting her in an embrace with is left arm. Does anyone know of this painting and/or artist???

According to many sources, it was painted with a bad method, napoleon's troops used it as target practice with rocks and bullets, many restoration projects and preservation methods damaged it further. Even one reference described that it was completely obliterated except for a little bit of Jesus's face.

How could such a painting be restored, to the original work? Or are we just looking at someone's interpretation of what it should have been?

I have been painting for many years. I am trying to loosen up on my style, but still paint in a folk-artsy realistic style but not too tight.
Any suggestions?

My mother bought me a used airbrush, and a friend of mine wants me to make her a t shirt.
what kind of paint is preferable? how does it come?
water colors? acrylics? what do i need to do to them, thin them down or something?
my airbrush came with little glass bottles with special lids that connect to the airbrush.
im not sure what brand of brush it is (i couldnt find a name) but it says "AIR-BRUSH" on the side. from pics i found on the internet, it looks like a HSENG HS-38.
so I dunno.

not like the plauques you see, like fine art that is framed at an art gallery. Deep poetry with art that has even more depth.

Im doing my art JC this year, and my picked theme was ' a dedicated follower of fashion'
I'm good at art, so I'm aiming for a high grade.
I have all of the pictures I will be painting, but I need ideas for different types of techniques. I already have the obvious ones like paint, coloring pencil and pencil, but I have no idea where to go now. I'm not allowed to use the same technique twice. Any ideas? please
