Try stores like MIchaels, blick art, hobby lobby, pearl art stores, utrecht, genesis.

For all it's worth darlin go to a shop that sells bolts of cloth and buy a heavy cotton cloth from them. One of a denim weight or more. If you want to upgrade your canvas buy some heavy linen from them.
Cotton is cotton and at a material shop you will get it cheaper.
Linen makes a superior canvas than cotton will.
As for a chain store that sells cotton canvas I couldn't tell you Alison, as I've always bought my art supplies at independant shops.
It is only recently that I've started buying my canvas at a sewing store. It's the same product and sells cheaper than an art store. Just cut it off the bolt of cloth to the length you want and stretch it.

Er.. Any place will do. It is a pretty basic cloth to have. Also keep your eye out for denim (the pure form without the extras or stretch) It isn't called canvas but it really is and works perfectly.
