I bought he CD a Perfect Circle "Mer De Noms" and there were these weird looking symbols that you can translate into letters of the alphabet.. Please let me know asap

Hi, I write poetry. Recently I was at a gathering and one of the women there was referred to as an artist. She paints faux pas and does interior decorating. She does one stroke painting which I thought to be more like arts and crafts. When others ask about my hobbies and I mention poetry, it's called writing to them. But I thought true art was any form where you pour out your soul and has depth.

What is arts/crafts and what is fine art?

I am painting wine glasses as favors for my wedding. what I need to know is can you use regular acrylic paints on them and is there anything special I need to do after they are painted to make the picture permanent...other than spraying them with a clear protective spray?

I bought the large tubes of the DaVinci brand for my basic colors that I will use often.

But now I need the following colors below, and I realized that I only have 4 or 5 water color classes left and I don't want to spend a lot of money, because I don't have a lot to spend...at all. Maybe I should just by hues (fake colors).....
So here are the colors...any recommendations?

Thalo blue (also called windsor blue)
Thalo green
Alizarin crimson
Cadmium red light
Aquamarine blue
Cerulean blue

Ok well it's only a couple of questions of which I think some people on here could answer for me. It would be really helpful if you did. Ok so the questions are;

*What was his primary type of artwork
* What materials did he use to make his art
* Style and period of his art
* Anything interesting you might know about him

Also, dont recommend wikepedia to me because I've already looked and re-looked multiple numbers of times for this information,its not there. Thank you!

I got an easel for Christmas, it came with oil paints, which i have never used. I just started to use them today (just to experiment) I didn't put any gesso on the canvas first. is that okay? i have the turpeniod and thats it. is there anything else i need to have to make this a successful painting? it isn't drying very fast. when will it be dry? should i coat the painting with something when i am done?

I know that pointillism is a style of art, but how would you use it in a sentence?

Would you say "He looked at the pointillism" or would you say "He looked at the pointillism art"? Or something else?

I am looking for a print by Fritz von Uhde called 'Walking to Emmaus'. The googled and yahooed and searched, but I cannot find a place to order that particular print.

As suggestions for resources?

I would prefer someplace I can mail order from, but someplace in either the Sacramento or Las Vegas area local would be fine as well.

As I stated before, I have used all the search engines using a variety of words. So *please* don't send me a search link (unless of course it has that print!)

I am referring to painting with acrylics. It was recommnded to me that there are better mediums to mix with acrylics than water. Something that will keep the paint from being too runny, easier to work with without losing control of the paint & without losing the color. Is there something I can use from regular household items to simulate this effect without purchasing a specific medium?
