I asked for the address to go pick it up and i get more excuses. I have my reciepts and pictures of my paintings. The gallery address in taos new mexico is no more. indian hills inn said prueitt moved out but left no forwarding address. how do I get my paintings back from another state?

Since this is potentially interstate theft, it becomes a federal issue. Was it as a result of internet advertising? I would file a report with your local authorities as soon as possible. You don't need to hire anyone. They will determine how best to proceed. Let them handle this for you. Good luck!

You should of never sent it.
You could try a lawyer but he probably won't be abl to do anything.
If the painting worth the money you might think of getting a private investigator
