I am a beginning painter and I paint with oils and acrylics and when I sign with a brush it seems difficult and frustrating. Is there some kind of a pen one can use to sign paintings that will last and is acceptable in the art world?

I recently purchased an original painting and the only signature is Kelly or Killy. Actually at the front of the painting is Killy but when I turned this huge painting on the back was stamped Continental Art with the name Kelly. It also had other stamps which I assume were stamps from different customs. Can anyone please tell me what Continental Art is? Was this for a group of travelling artists students? Was this in Europe?

I have a limited edition signed print that has been 'treated' to look like an orgiginal painting. Is this varnish and is there a special name for this technique?

I love oil painting very much and I want to make a site which will include a lot of masterpieces. The goal of this site is to be a free art source that the visitors could enjoy himself in the art world.
As is known to all, most of the masterpiece is of public domain and is out of copyright. But the problem I am encountering is, the paintings of artist A is certain and If I add the artist's works into my site, the content will be the same as other sites. I wonder whether I am disobeying the copyright.

Are there any artists that sketch, paint, photograph interior design.

I'm looking for a few artists who are well known for their work either sketching interiors, painting or photographing interiors or even interior designers.

Thanks.x

i'm buying oil paints and brushes and possibly canvas as a christmas present for someone that i'm currently dating. i was wondering what the best brand of oil paint is and about how much does it cost, as well as with the brushes.

i have somwhat of a limited fund of money at the moment but i'll do just about anything to get those paints.

also, how many colors would be suggested if the person does landscapes? i know that if there's a river or a lake or something of the sort they usually use the same blue for the sky, if that's of any help.

I am painting Christmas jeans for daughter and am using acrylic paints mixed with fabric medium. The red I am using just soaks in to the denim and doesn't look red. I tried letting it dry and putting another coat, but no luck...it looks bad. Should I just use acrylic paint and no medium? I've seen really cute jeans on ebay with really bright colors....I thought it would be easy to achieve the same look!?

I have googled and used yahoo search engines and both only provide sites that show a few of his pictures but provides no information about his life, background in painting or what the value of his paintings is.
Does anyone know where and when he was born? What his paintings are worth? Where did he live?

I created a palette-knife oil painting on canvas paper and would like to frame it. However, I would like to keep the look of the heavy impasto. Where would I start? Thank you very much for your time.

For my GCSE mock art exam, I have based my own peice on 'The Weeping Woman' by Pablo Picasso.

I now need to analise & describe the painting in depth.

This is where you come in - I need help!

Does anybody have any opinions on his use of:
- colour
- tone
- shadow
- texture
- shape
- emotion
- etc...

?

Any (sensible) comments are welcomee :)
Thank You xx
