I'd like to use my oil paints for a recently assigned art project, but I have no canvas. All I have left is heavyweight watercolor paper. Will that do?

Please help me... I have some art homework, where I have to study an artist and attempt to use their style when painting... I have forgotten their picture, and can't remember the name, so will need to search it on the internet. All I can remember is that they were a British or American (I think british) male artist who painted natural forms (mainly flowers) in watercolour using a slightly simplistic style with quite dark lines under the light paint... The picture I am doing Is kind of like a sunflower... I think his name was quite long... He is a relitavely modern artist (still alive...) I know this is an impossible question, but it would be really helpful if people could make suggestions of either names or websites... Thanks!

I am just wondering what kind of Art this is.

I have been to places such as Spain and its Islands and have seen people in the evening, out in the street with a huge crowd around them. On closer inspection, I find that the crowd are seeing the person do quick paintings using spray paints and tin cans/plates.

Does anyone know what this type of Art is called? I know it may be related to Graffiti but I am not sure.

Thank you in advance.

I would like to know if other artists besides Picasso made paintings in response to the Spanish Civil War. If you know photographers (besides Robert Capa) please include them as well.

What does this painting imply so far to you? And where do you imagine the rest of the painting will take the viewer?

This is for fun, people:

This dumb thing should have been finished by now but it seems like the last week has meant one delay after another after another. The gods are either against me finishing this painting or perhaps created the delays to allow me more time to think through which images to add to the painting. Or my muse is on strike, too!

This is the full name of the French Post-Impressionist that painted the Children of the Revolution in and around Montmartre.

What's up with all the names and what do they each represent? Please add sources if you have them.

i do not know if the name is correct. is the d the abbrev. for the 1st name. the g looks a little messed up-so perhaps it is something else like ie. it is some kind of ethnic painting-perhaps mexican-spanish-etc. it is a picture of a house on the water-very vibrant in color. i do not know much about art but i think it is an abstract. i could be very wrong about that. if anyone could help me on this i would appreciate it
