Is this called Street Art?

Question

I am just wondering what kind of Art this is.

I have been to places such as Spain and its Islands and have seen people in the evening, out in the street with a huge crowd around them. On closer inspection, I find that the crowd are seeing the person do quick paintings using spray paints and tin cans/plates.

Does anyone know what this type of Art is called? I know it may be related to Graffiti but I am not sure.

I have also seen it done in Mexico. Since it is done in public places for the benefit of the onlookers, I'd call it street art.

It is called speed painting. It is done in the street as well as in theaters.

Street art is the kind that stays in the street. Like on walls and on the street itself. Just the mere fact of painting outdoors is not street art.

Sure street art, but not graffiti though, that is illegal and usually done in secrecy, in disguise and without any witnesses.

I agree with Narky, that's who I thought of first, its chalk and not spray paint, but who cares, the guy is ridiculous. Thanks for the link, it amazes me every time I see his stuff.

it seems to be a cross between performance art and street art...street performance art perhaps...hurricane has his head up his patootie, it certainly is NOT crap.
