Well, if it's paints, then you'd end up with this icky dullish colour (on adding equal amounts of both colours) or a dark-dirty-orange (on adding green to orange), depending on what proportions you put the paints in....
But colour pencils are so different. I guess you'd end up with something like...an olive green( if you first colour -lightly- light green in and then -lightly too- colour in orange). Sorry, that's the best I can do.

the color wheel is really good for understanding color mixing. If you mix two colors across from each other you'll get a muddy gray. If you mix two colors closer to one another you will get what is in between them.
Red+ blue for example gives you violet which is half way between them on the color wheel. Blue + Yellow = green which is half way between thoes.
this only works for the Primary colors though, red, yellow, and blue. with these 3 colors you can make any other color
Next are the secondary colors, Green, Orange, and Violet. Mixing these together will give you a muddy color because they each contain the color opposite the other. Green for example is blue and yellow, Orange is red and yellow. Because red is opposite green, they cancel each other out. Blue is across from orange so it cancels that one out, resulting in a grey-brown.
