People keep saying things like; "Wow, if Hallmark or Disney saw this art they'd pay you a fortune!" I have done so many paintings and I'm not sure how to get large company's like these to even see them. I want to make my own greeting cards, but how do these large cos. view and buy art from people?

This is the full name of the French Post-Impressionist that painted the Children of the Revolution in and around Montmartre.

What's up with all the names and what do they each represent? Please add sources if you have them.

i do not know if the name is correct. is the d the abbrev. for the 1st name. the g looks a little messed up-so perhaps it is something else like ie. it is some kind of ethnic painting-perhaps mexican-spanish-etc. it is a picture of a house on the water-very vibrant in color. i do not know much about art but i think it is an abstract. i could be very wrong about that. if anyone could help me on this i would appreciate it

I'm having trouble producing sharp photos because of my shaky hands. I would want to know if there are any techniques to minimize camera shake without the use of tripods. Like when taking pictures during a party or gathering. I think it would be awkward to bring a tripod along.

There is a project that I would like to do and the artist suggests using printers paper and I am not sure what it is or what would be comparable. The original artist lives in the UK and we may have a different name for it here in the US

I try to take pictures of my husband with our children or sometimes just my husband alone and he always feels to need to make some stupid face or duck behind one of the kids or otherwise run..

It's frustrating, because I'd like a few GOOD pictures of him with the kids for when they're older and want to look back- I'm sure Daddy with his eyes crossed isn't going to be a tremendously fuzzy memory for them..

I have a Pentax K10D and am considering one of the above lenses for a trip to Africa next year and also for wildlife work in the UK, while the 50-500 would probably be suitable for the bright conditions of Africa will it still work well in the greyer Britain? Or am I better off with a shorter f4 ??

There seems to be a lot of these by various artists, but I don't know the person's name for this one and can't find any info.

Thanks in advance!

This is what I'm using my limited photographic skills for. I'm a surrealist painter, now branching into graphic (mostly just for fun). I put this in so the regulars that i know in photography can see where I'm headed. Please click on them so they enlarge, otherwise there's no point looking. You'll find that I break all the rules (and... love it).

For those of you digital shooters, when you are looking for a specific b&w or sepia shot, do you:

A) Shoot color, and de-sat afterward in photo-editor??

or do you

B) make the adjustment in camera to b&w or Sepia??

For those that do it in an editor, do you start with grayscale, and adjust tones, etc..., or just use a percentage of de-sat (or negative color saturation)??

Personally, I shoot everything in color mode, and de-sat afterward. I was wondering about un-neccesary on-camera functions.

Whats your opinion?? Does it matter with digital??
