There is a project that I would like to do and the artist suggests using printers paper and I am not sure what it is or what would be comparable. The original artist lives in the UK and we may have a different name for it here in the US

I live in the UK and I have used printer's paper purchased from Falkiner's in Holborn, UK. I think your project probably involves the kind used in 'art' book printing. It's heavy, smooth and quite thick. If you can't get it, try a smooth heavyweight water colour paper. The graphic designer Brody Neuenschwander has published books on printing and design and may have reference to suppliers in the index of one of his books. Try a really good art materials shop. Sorry it's not a specific help.

Printer paper just means ordinary copy paper, available at all office supply stores.

There is also a paper called, "newsprint." This is just a rough textured, uncoated paper, often used in inexpensive drawing paper. Look at the texture of an ordinary newspaper. The only difference between this and newsprint is that newspaper paper is usually bleached white.

Could it possibly mean 'Newsprint', that which newspapers are printed on? Its very inexpensive comparatively to heavier, brighter papers, often recommended for rough sketches and is available at all art supply stores.
