This is my 4th season in a row doing this show. I'm beginning to think I am becoming bitter about it. Ever year at least one kid asks if this one is the best one ever!

My school just got through putting on the musical, Carousel. We're doing High School Musical (I know =/) now. Auditions are Mon. and they want you to sing a pop-style song. Which song do you think would be better to show off my voice and catch their attention:

Kelly Clarkson - "What's Up Lonely?"
Christina Aguilera - "Genie in A Bottle"
India Arie (not pop, I know) - "I Choose"

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

Okay, so I want to do a one-person monolouge, like one or two minutes. And I don't want it to be really old or anything. Like not [1900's] more like [2000's]

A comedy monolouge, and a dramatic monolouge :D

Pleasssssssssse

How do I deal with a drama teacher who always picks the same people for a play every time? She totally denies it, but she really does pick favorites. She's gotten many parent phone calls and emails, and she knows that everyone isn't happy with her.

Do they stay in various hotels in every city, or do they stay on buses? For that matter, do they get their own rooms?! I wonder.

Lets face it. Hollywood's got no original material. Everything is an adaptation of a book, a comic book or graphic novel and the worst: a REMAKE of an old movie or TV series. It's bringing in money, but even the masses will grow tired of being ripped off.

So what are they going to (have to) do in order to regain their creative supremacy? Will the Hollywood Monster finally dissolve and put the power back in the hands of the artists?

I volintered to help at an elementary school to help the choir director put together a simple Christmas-themed musical/play for 3rd-5th graders. There's really not much time to get a play together and this teacher is way in over her head. Does anyone have a sript or something of a play they might have used in the past? Good websites? Ideas?

Thanks a bunch.
