Her
Written By Semper Fi Reborn and The Dark Prince

Semper:

Look at her,
She is everything I ever imagined,
Standing before me.
Like a statuette of grace.
And on her face is the smirk,
I am hypnotized by.
Oh man, I love to be around,
Her.

The Dark Prince:

She treats me like a possession,
To do with as she will
I feel like I'm lost in her,
Yet I love her still.
I am at her beck and call
Still I don't complain
I treat her like a modern queen
But it's always just in vain.

Semper:

Someone open a window,
Lest I pass out.
All that I have inhaled,
Is her scent.
My nostrils recieve their blessing.
Yet in still,
I..
Can't..
Breathe..
I love her.
Maybe too much.

ah,friend let us be true
to on another!for the world which seems
to lie before us like a land of dreams
so various,so beautiful,so new,
hath really neither joy,nor love, nor light,
nor certitude, nor peace,nor help for pain;
and we are here as on a darkling plain
swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
where ignorant clash by night

Do you think this poem is any good?
Does it stink, or smell how it should?
Will you blink, and smile how you would?

Will it upset you, talking of itself?
Will it add to your mind's wealth?
Will it help you find literary health?
Will it exile you, from it's self?

Will you be upset, if it doesn't flow.
...Honestly, I don't know...
Who cares?

Rape
Written by Semper Fi Reborn

He sat there in the dark,
Like a demon filled soul.
Thoughts of violence and lust,
To overpower his goal.
He knew he was wrong,
He didn't try to get right.
So he searched for a victim,
Out enjoying her night.

He pounced on her quick,
She had no chance to scream.
What school of behaviors,
Could create such a fiend?
Who uses his sex,
As a weapon of pain?
And gives not a thought,
That she won't be the same!

Her innocent world,
In one night is destroyed.
She's questioned by cops,
Who themselves seem annoyed.
They forget for a moment,
Her world had no hope!
They forget that an animal,
Held a knife to her throat.
Instead of searching,
To even the score.
They bombarded her with questions,
About what she had wore.
She wanted to be invisible,
Just so she could escape!
Then strongly she said,
I'M THE VICTIM OF RAPE!!

scream

There should be no more tomorrow,
When yesterday never did exist.
In the late night when I dream,
Nothing ever seems to change.

The sky explodes and cracks open,
The rain comes pouring down.
This day has finally come to an end,
All my dreams have come and gone.

The rivers in my darkest heart,
The run in blackened streams.
I'm waiting for the sun to rise,
For the light that never came.

NO escape from my constant pain,
No one hears my silent scream.
All of this is just a distant dream,
I pray for the end to sing it's song.

Look down deep, what do you see,
A broken shell on bended knees.
How deep is the river of my fate
In the silence so deep and late.

......Donuts

Donuts in the morning
Donuts in the evening
Donuts at suppertime
Be my awful sugar

Coma, but I love you
All the time.
Put I.V.s around me
And swear by Krispy
Kreme

You'll be there forever
In a sugar frosted dream!
Donuts are a danger
Donuts do a harm

But, I'll be there this
Morning
For another bag of
Warm, ooey, gooey

I.V. coma warning alarm!

Good Morning!

And the rules change all the time. Traditionally, they had to be about an element of nature, in two parts, with one line either redirecting or contradicting…and the mandatory 5-7-5 syllable count.

Here’s one of mine:

_____

Wide winged Crane skyward
He looks toward the rising sun
I do not see it
_____

I will leave it up to you to decide if it is the first or third line that is contradictory.

You and I May Differ
Written by Semper Fi Reborn

You and I may differ,
On what we choose to believe.
Yet in these same differences,
Do not be decieved.
I don't hate you at all,
Or wish your demise.
I couldn't wish harm to you,
Then look in your eyes.

I may pray for you,
Like you would wish me well.
We'd pick each other up,
If one of us fell.
Why do we think,
That out of debate?
Over our beliefs,
That we harbor hate?
Not for each other, no brother,
Or sister of mine.
You choose to go logical,
I choose the Divine.
Why can we not learn,
This world is our shared space?
We must coexist,
Regardless of faith.

I know to each other,
We seem to be odd.
Your faith lies in science,
My faith is in God.

I still wish you peace.
Eventhough we don't see eye to eye.
I hope you'll accept this poem's sincerity.

Hey You!

This road is long
The lanes are narrow
Destination, has a name
You may call it, what you want to
But it’s all, the very same

I’ve come here
An individual
Free to say, what I believe
Because I know, that silent living
Is a fearful, web to weave

So hear me now
Young sons and daughters
From the edge, I say to you
Better try, to find your voices
Or your dreams, will slip right through

‘Elegy for Brian (A Snail)’

Oh! Dear Brian! You passed away
On this now most grievous day;
You have left us, for your part,
A snail-shaped hole within our hearts
Oh! Brian! We shall miss you so,
We who watched your small life grow.

Oh! How swiftly you did slide!
With such elegance you did glide!
We watched you slither on and on
With such commitment, on and on;
Although you’re gone, we shan’t forget
Your talents, nor the day we met.

Friend, be not by grief undone
For, though our snail was stepped upon
He glides free now, free of fear,
In snail utopia, my dear

Why…fight it
You will never, never, never
…Not deny it
With quiet, and
Subtle innuendo
Buy it

Cry…lying
You’ll forever, ever, ever
…Sit beside it
Light lit, or
Self illumination
Equipped

Goodbye...fly it

May the ring
Upon your finger
Be much more
Than gold to you
And the diamond
That you gave her
Reflecting what
A man must do
Hold her hand
In the darkness
Sheltered heart
From the pain
Say I love you
My forever
Listen to her
Be a friend

‘Carry me aloft on gossamer wings’
Sings like an old folk song
You don’t belong
In the modern day
Playing cards for less than money
In a hollowed out hole
Back alley

‘Golden ring upon your finger’
Forget it, it’s you who lingers
In a past
You never lived
Along some river in your mind
Long run dry

‘On your knees and pray to God’
Has only begot the I.E.D.
On parched desert sand
The Oasis
In your imagination’s eye
A mirage

Shhhhhh

The warmth comes first,
Before the sun even lifts an eye…
I lie and look at your contours
Your golden hair
I watch you fill with each breath and sigh
The whispers inside
Make me wonder of the places you dream of
Am I with you
On your pillow
Or high in the clouds that surround you
Not to awake you…
I cannot resist, a touch

Two silly gooses
Honking their love songs
Keep me awake
With their trumpeting air

Moon out my window
With Petrograd magpie
Light as a feather
With lunatic flair

Out of my window
Sprinkling bread crumbs
So they will sing
Serenades uncompared

All of my lifetime
The muses delighted
Bringing me riddles
And notes for my prayers

Now, I must leave them
So others may follow
To the end of the journey
They have prepared

The brilliant colors which runs through my life,
Plus obstacles that make me really fret,
Makes me reflect, should I thank or regret?
What God has given me, be it a strife.

Dearest God, in my life, You made a knife,
In my stormy journey, I ought to get
Peace, serenity, but these can't be set,
For You made me a challenge, ?????

Rocks and stones do not grind me into dust
It polishes and turns me to a gem
The years I've lived, I did my best, it is a must
To show gratitude to God, unlike them.
That one day, I'll sparkle, it is God's plan
I already know, for I am a man.

I found one site ( http://members.aol.com/heraklit1/poets.htm ) where Vigil (the great roman poet '70-19BC' ) was included in the catogory of romantic poets. Can anyone tell me weather it is right to consider virgil as a poet beloging to the romantic era.
Added to that another site said "And all through the Medieval and Renaissance epochs, and down to the rise of the revolutionary and romantic outburst of the nineteenth century, Virgil reigned supreme."

Please help!!!!1
