There are more than 150 sonnets. They express quite a few different attitudes. Focus on one or two or a few of them. You'll be able to tell what the poet thinks and feels.

In most of his sonnets, there is a romantic and idealized view of love. Such as "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day, thou art more temperate and more fair."
