if you know you're going to die & you can actually avert it but you did not, is it suicide? is it only when you have to save somebody else that makes it self sacrifice?

I'm an atheist, which suggests that hell awaits when I die, but I'm also a research scientist. I work with a group of lovely people testing a new treatment for people with HIV, which suggests that I shouldn't go to hell. The treatment is gene therapy, which can be seen as 'playing God', so that also suggests hell. I try to be as environmentally responsible as I can be, so that steers me away from hell. So help me out here; where am I going to end up?

(Obviously, being an atheist, I don't actually believe I'm going to hell. I'd like to hear what religious people think my fate will be. I'm just curious and am not suggesting anything negative about religion - some of my best friends are muslim, jewish, catholic, etc.)

We had our good times along with the bad, happy times and sad but always was the knowledge that the love we had would last.

almost every HOUR i see this comment by a christian : "did men com from monkeys?"and the one that goes hand in hand of course "if we came from monkeys,why are there still monkeys?"
evolution doesn't say that we came from MONKEYS!!! what on earth!

my question is,why don't you even read evolution and see? the obvious conclusion that can be come to is that you're rejecting the idea even without knowing WHAT it is! and worse,you try to argue about it and it's very difficult to answer some of your Qs (i actually answered a Q titled"who then created the monkeys" today)

tell me,if i knew NOTHING about the Bible,and made some SERIOUS blunders,what would you think? and yes,there ARE some atheists who criticise the Bible without reading it and that's inexcusable as WELL.

it's impossible to have a rational discussion when you so obviously know nothing about the subject.if you want to state that you don't agree with evolution,why not read up on it instead of making statements like this?

Only half of my newspaper was delivered today. The boring half. I have 3 options:
1 - Walk to the nearest newsagent and buy the entire paper.
2 - Catch a bus to the newsagent responsible for deliveries and ask for the other half of the paper.
3 - Only read half of the paper. Forget about the rest.

I get so extremely sick when I think about what happened to me in the past. When I see the same people from my past, it triggers depression and anxiety. So this has been going on for years. I've been to counselors and psychologist, but it comes back and it is worse than ever. I've tried meditation, running, distract myself with positive things, but the feeling is disabling. Help.
