I try to consider all possible solutions and then eliminate them one by one (time permitting). Some of the best ideas are ones that someone else might not have the imagination to think up or dismiss out of hand without considering it.
Some of the best ideas are often dimissed by people with rigid thinking.

People prefer to think out of the box. However, thinking out of the box, away from conventional does not infer better than normal answer---- in the case of confinement in conventional thinking. Some people have fantastic answers, not knowing where the origin---in or out of the box that he/she will never know for sure. In general, good thinking comes from perception beyond the rudiments of things.
What count most comes from you alone, having the right training and experience to think better than most. Nothing out of the box in thinking will make you any different, if you do not have the right acumen

To think outside of the box is to think of profound ideas; one that no one, or few, has thought of. Look around for inspirations; just about anything might spark an idea. Use that idea as a base then find more insipirations to build on it. One of the best sources is your experience in life. Reflect on your life.

I've always been called a lateral thinker. I tend to see things from many points of view and if asked a question will not think of the most obvious at first. I've moved around quite a bit and had lots of different kinds of experiences so perhaps I am not so stuck with routine thinking. Try to do things differently and approach things from a different angle.

I wish him all that luck can throw his way.
Thinking outside the box happens when unique results accomplish the same as other means. Be goal oriented

Only regarding the fields of my interest and expertise. In other areas I find it difficult to be creative and at the end I'm rather dull.
How is that possible? Because of my interest on the field which leads me to question established truths because they echo the rhetoric and interests of the power that be.
