That there is something rather than nothing is the greatest of mysteries, that this something is intelligible and can be appreciated is even greater-- as far as all of its point-- I am willing to trust in the implications of each of these mysteries.

Existence does not need a point, existence is. Points involve reasons. Do reasons why matter to a planet, a life form, space??? The only matter to us, because we are intelligent enough to ask. However, we are so dim that we do not realize that it does not matter. It is.

It might help to understand that since there is an enormity of existence, that logically there can also be an enormity of non-existence. Just imagine all the things that don't exist. I think possibilities of non-existence far outweigh known existence. I think the realm of non-existence dwarfs existence by so much that the odds show existence is far less likely and could easily not be.
I think what I'm trying to say is that there is no point to existence. It is here in the place of non-existence, and could just as easily not be.

God created everything with an in-built purpose. We don't always know what the purpose of a given entity is, but that does not mean things have no function or purpose. Aristotle discerned that all things have an end. That is one reason why he rigorously pursued an understanding of all things on earth by using empirical methods and deploying his impressive intellect. Check out his work on physics. It is a little outdated in some respects, but he is perceptive when it comes to the purpose of things.

Keep energy moving? When one thing dies... it fuels the life or birth of another thing? Keeps creation going...

Ummm. I don't think there is a point. And, that is o.k with me.
It's all absolutely mysterious and utterly fascinating though isn't it?
