I dont remember exactly who told me that the mind is a muscle that needs to be put to work (someone important that is), if we can put our minds to extensive training, can we achieve some sort of psychic powers or something like that or anything out of the ordinary? They say that we only use about 8% of our minds, then what about the rest of the 92% we dont use?

Okay, it's all an illusion and you're actually in an insane asylum. Or you're a vegetable somewhere. Or it's something we can't quite wrap our minds around. Or you're actually dying in a horrible car crash that threw you through your windshield, and your brain conjured this up as a defense mechanism.

Why do we want to know?

Why does it matter if it's all fake? Why have I seriously, honestly doubted my perceptions? I have a really, really sweet deal here in whatever this is. I have a loving family, my first romance has worked out incredibly, I'm in a First-World country, I'm healthy, and I'm getting a good education.

Why do I seriously entertain the notion that it's false? Why do I want to know?

I'm looking for a response that IS NOT either, "It's human nature to ask questions," or anything about Jesus. I'm an atheist. You're not converting me. If that's your style, great for you, go away.

Are you proud to be straight? Straight sexual orientation people are not proud to be straight but gay people are often proud to be gay and it's because gay people fought to get a freedom, were discriminated against. Can I say the same thing when I talk about racism? White people more say "who cares about rare" (at least my friends who are Whites less care about racism) but is that because they don't have to care about it because they have never been taken away their freedom like a straight people?

I don't want to offend anyone but just want to know the truth.

Some people are in the habit of meticulously planning their way in this world. They set some aim for them. For instance to get educated upto certain level like PG or Ph D. Then seeking a posh job in a foreign country earning in lacs, building houses, owning cars, marrying a beautiful girl etc etc. How about you? Do you plan? Is it material aim or spiritual aim?

He is John Steinbeck. He writes"Our species is the only creative species and it has only one creative instrument, the individual mind and spirit of a man.Nothing was ever created by two men. There are no good collaborations, whether in music,in art,in poetry,in mathematics,in philosophy.Once the miracle of creation has taken place ,the group can build and extend it,but the group never invents anything. The preciousness lies in the lonely mind of a man." Thus His candid truth brings light in the despairing future of perishing humanity. It's a truth blowing not only in America but also perhaps, over rivers Seine,Ganges. His wisdom is magnificently relevant in today's world also.Irrelevantly, even after being an 'argumentative indian', i worship his vision, because he deserves it.
**Finally i entreat answer from people only who have read some of his works .

Before man was here animals live and died. Now that we are here the live and die, and yes alot is caused by us, but a law of nature is natural selection. If there was a million tigers one year and now their is only a thousand, is this bad? Why? There once was Wooly-mammoths but not any more, the world keep spining. Is it that we are just afriad of change in our world? It changes every moment, new animals are discovered, old one's die. People change, why can our world change too?
So if there were no tigers in the world what will happen? A new animal would have to take it's place in the food chain. maybe the reason why, there are so few, is because we fill the gaps when we kill other animals. I use tigers as just one example. I do mean Why should we save any animal outside of humans?

I just need to know what I need to get done in order to have beautiful women begging to go out with me, and for me to be able to do the things I want to do when I realize that I want to do them, instead of having to wait until I have enough money.

I want to have women literally knocking on my door every night and calling me to take them out, but I'm having trouble thinking of a way to get myself into that position.

I basically just need to know what I need to do to get there. I currently live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I am 21 years old. I want to either live in a luxury condo in Chicago, or find a smaller town somewhere where there are gorgeous, sexually liberal women who lust for me and who visit my house/condo everyday and just always want to be around me.

I think I have an idea of what I need to do, but it would be great to get all the input I can get.

Thanks.

it is the simplest answer ever.
it's a test. ok. there is a God.
and he put us here as a test to see if we are loyal enough to be able to go to heaven. Non-believers are actually a part of this test.
they try to convince us that he isnt real...that it is all a made up story. If we listen to their side and still belive then it proves to God that you are trully loyal. without non-believers, it would be too easy to believe. this is why God gave us the power of free will and thought.

i told you it was simple.
lol

well does it sound about right?

I have to write a paper on this question in chinese philosophy.

The question is this, " Why does Lao Tzu think that "the female always gets the better of the male through stillness"?"

The book itself says this:
"the female always gets the better of the male through stillness,
through stillness, she places herself below the male.
and so, a great state, by placing itself below a lesser state, can take the lesser state,
a lesser state, by placing itself below a greater state, can be taken by the greater state.
and so, one places itself below in order to take;
the other places itself below in order to be taken.
the great state wants no more than to provide for all people alike.
the lesser state wants no more than to find someone to serve.
since both can get what they want, it is fitting that the great state place itself in the lower position.

What does this mean, and what is the proper response to the above question. Please, help me understand this question! Thank you!
