Aquinas would assert that God is given glory in the fulfillment of our nature. This is an articulation of an older principle of Christian theology articulated by St. Ireaneus-- "the glory of God is humanity fully alive." What wisdom the two saints are trying to offer is that God is not in competition to human nature or with creation, so that our flourishing and accomplishments take nothing away from who God is and his purposes for his creation. This being said, the fulfillment of our nature is to accomplish all the things that you describe and more-- to utilize the capacities of our minds and wills to participate in God's creative power and to seek to realize the fullest potential of material creation. God is not diminished in any of this, in fact, his purposes for creation are manifested and realized in this activity.
As far as our freedom and its relationship to the divine will, this is a philosophical and theological predicament that has yet to be resolved. But the lack of resolution does not mean that one has to accept a total predestination as humanity's lot. Humanity is radically finite and our freedom is always relative and contingent. We are always positioned by other realities be they natural, or if you are a believer in such things, supernatural realities. Absolute freedom has never been characteristic of a human nature. Only modernity has promoted this conceit. But it has no basis in reality. Does this then mean a kind of fatalism should prevail? I don't think so, we can make some choices and our decisions do have an influence in this world for good and for grief.

i guess its because at the end of the day, u do kno that the existence of god is stil to b scientifically proven..you do not have any facts regarding god's existence..some part of it like going to the moon and all, stems from curiousity and impatience. why wait for God to send us there, rather figure out a way sooner ourselves..and yea, as they say- god helps those who help themselves..so i guess during an epidemic and all, u try ur best..get the best treatment and then leave the rest to god..god only gives the finishing touch. and yea, mayb we r infringing on god's right to management by our progressive trends, but then, its not by making the best medicines or something to help humanity..its more so by destroying nature, causing wars, killing, doing anything destructive as such. at the end of the day, you die. sure, but atleast you have the feeling that- i did my best. but god wanted this..so be it..
hope this helped ya..

whatever science come up with, it is still coming from nature they just try to explain what is already in existance, the so call medicine come from herbs, who created the herbs, it is God, inventing is not creating, inventing is looking at what is available to make it useful, which God provided brains to do that. show me one thing that science created without a natura source, even cloning is done by using life cell from animal or man. so my dear everything still boils down to destiny. there is no infringement on God's right, because He provided us with brain to use it, and that is the way He wants it.
