First of all, God is the only one who can live up to any expectations you place on Him. Second of all, if you are placing expectations on God simply to "test" his existence then you might not find what you are looking for. He's not a circus act just so everyone can go Oooohhh and Ahhhhhh. Third of all, God is the only one who has ever lived up and advanced beyond my expectations. He is the only one who has never dissapointed me. The majority of the time, He's the only one who has saw me through my tough moments. The world has preconcieved notions of who God is, but to know Him is to love Him bc/ He is the very definition of love.

Hi There is no limit on what God can do.God can never be defined in a preconceived manner. We tend to think of God by using earthly logic to explain about him. He transcends all that we have learned about him so we keep trying to understand why he does what he does.

My expectations in this life have more to do with my expectations of myself, and God is my support system
when I am in need of spiritual repreive. When my
expectations of myself are beyond what I am capable of acheiving. He keeps me strong in my faith by showing me His path. Often times I try to veer off course, and He gently
guides me back on. All I expect of God is love and support. The rest is up to me.
So, I don't feel that I have too high of expectations of God. He is the Almighty and capable of anything. There are no limitations to what he can do, that can only be limited by our
own minds. My heart is open to Him fully and His unconditional love is all I need to keep my spirits up.

We need not define God as His Word defines Him in His entirety. We can just receive what has been given to us. God has no problem fulfilling all of mankind's expectations. The real question is, will we know and see Him as He is?

I believe that people that have high expectations on God usually dont remain in relationship with him very long, in fact ,become frustrated and eventually convinced he doesnt exist. kind of like the Santa Claus thing.I.E. I didnt get what i wanted --therefore he isnt real--therefore i dont believe.
their preconcieved notion of what God should do for them prevents them from knowing HIM.

then there is the person who is raised in a religion that tells you how you must believe and act in order to have relationship with God, and after years of trying and failing to fit in the box, either give up in frustration or stay and accept this must be how it is.either way they have never experianced God in their life.
I was one of the latter.I left the religion I was raised in. many that do, dont ever try to come back to God. thinking church =God.in fact it doesnt surprise me that aprox.70% of people that claim atheism were raised in that religion.
my saving grace came in the form of mental illness and substance abuse. when i hit bottom ,I had no where to turn.my best thinking got me here ,and i really didnt want to die. in rehab I was told I had to make contact with a higher power ,there was no other way.I began to seek out Gods will for my life by praying daily for him to reveal himself to me in a real way.I surrenderd and have continued to do so every day,by surrender i mean my preconcieved notions of what He is and what he expects from me and what he should do for me.Now I have a good relationship with Him.one he built up once i set aside my expectations.
peace of God><>

One will never know. Not in this world anyway. And who's to say what's to come in the next because it's only mere mortals that have prophesied to where we are and where were going.
