Why do people, including myself, claim that life is unfair when things don't go our way. Doesn't that make it FAIR in reality? If we always got our way it would be UNFAIR wouldn't it. Think about it...

I'm doing an English paper on the attitudes of people in relation to mathematics, and of course I want to get opinions from all sides of the issue.

If you actually love math, but are not good at it, do you have an idea of why you are having trouble grasping it?

I know that there are morals and ethics that change from one culture to another. But surely there are enough in common to suggest that many morals and ethics are hard wired into us at birth. Behaviours that have given us a better chance of survival, like loyalty to loved ones and parents putting the lives of their children first.

All animals have developed instincts for survival. Do many of our morals and ethics fall this catergory?

If so would you have to believe in fate? Do you think it is just a way for people to deal with life's hardships and injustices?

Speaking of the idea of forms, such as dealt with in Plato’s allegory of the cave. The prisoners see but a shadow of the true form and since knowing nothing else believe it to be the true form.

Keeping this in mind, If we were to see a perfect example of something, lets say a personal relationship, would we be able to recognise it?

Since we are surrounded and have grown up in a world where imperfect systems are the norm. and every situation could hold some form of treachery with every friend having the possibility of holding a knife behind your back, would we be able to go "Ahh, that is the way that things should be"? Or would we not be able to see the forest for the trees?

Would we be able to recognise it if we see it?

Serious answers only please.

Thanks.
