why are you told to remove emotion from your investments, surely this is why life is becoming more stressful

people have emotions in everyday life and if you remove emotion then you are in danger of over reacting, for instance a stock jumping when the company announces it is to sack 5000 people

(you dont know who it is sacking, they could be sacking the best 5000 or just picking names out of a hat??), surely this is not 'ethical' investing

i was told to ask this question in philosophy as well??

I'm 37, I have 7 felony convictions all for drugs so I must work for myself, I can not be employed. I love my wife but I'm not attracted to her anymore. My business is failing. Sex is boring drug don't work any more and I don't beleive in god. So where do I go from here?

everytime I ask a question ab. something that's obviously bothering me, they say it will all work out. but the fact is you don't really know. you can see and determine where your career is going to go but not whether you will find your special Somone. (just to give an example)

I love being realistic; i guess it hurts less when you get accustomed to what's really going on. Everyone has their own fate & unfortun. it doesn't always work out.

I mean, for example, arguments about the death penalty, or abortion, or the existence of God. I know that these are very grave issues, and should be treated with nobility and respect.

But I was wondering, does anyone know a highly effective technique for winning arguments with people?

For example, are we heading towards another decline in our population since our energy supplies are not quite as abundent as they were at the beginning of the 19th century? Did our predecessors simply run out of time to replace their sources of energy with nuclear fusion power stations before their supplies of fossil fuels ran out?

When I speak of predecessors I mean those civilisations, which were meant to have existed prior to the Ancient Greeks and the Egyptians, and who are meant to have been as advanced (or almost as advanced) as we are today.

I read in the news today that a proposal for a fusion-powered nuclear reactor has been made and the proposed location of this facility, which would convert seawater into fuel, is Cadarache in France. However this power station may not be completed until 2040 at the earliest. It has been predicted that we have enough fossil fuels to last us for only the next 2 decades. Perhaps our predecessors had similar problems as we face today?
