Actually many times a day I give thanks. It may just be in thought but I do it.
I guess I've never said have a nice day, but I believe God wants to hear the thanks!

Never and no. Why pray? God exists independent of time, assuming He exists. Therefore any momentary idea or thought of mine is meaningless to express in this manner. He knows exactly what I have thought, are thinking, will think for all time. Moreover, God does not actually experience a "day" so he cannot "have a nice day." Many people pray to beg God for things to fall into place for themselves without having to work. That is selfish. The best thing to do is to constantly create evidence that you are a good person. The less you falter in this respect, the more love God will have for you, no matter how poorly of a hand you are dealt in the game of life.

I do not tell God to have a nice day, because He is the one who gives these to my life and I give Him acknowledgment for being the provider,He lifts my head and spirits daily, and much more. How often am I grateful? with every breath He gives me, How often do I pray? There is no way to count.

Tell me, what is the point of prayer?
God does not exist in linear time. Being omniscient, as Xtian theology would have it, God already knows what is what. There is no freedom of action, such as prayer, unless your God wills it.
Don't understand? You have no freedom of choice in Xtian theology. It is the biggest oxymoron of all time. Pray, do good things, go to heaven.
Thats bull. If your God is omniscient, then he already knwos if you are going to heaven or hell, and always has known. Your actions do not matter because your fate is already signed, sealed, and delivered by gGod and was at the moment his Being came into existence.
Smack your priest with that one sometime!
Then he will say that God gave you freewill to choose your path. That is more bull, because it directly violates the very definitive foundations of omniscience.
You have no free will.
Prayer does no good.
If you are to be saved, you have been already.
If you are going to hell, your suitcases arre already packed.
So....live your life. Its already predetermined by your God, even though you still live under the illusion of free will.

God's standard is that we love Him with all our heart and soul and strength an mind. We do not match up to that. Jesus, God's Son, did and does God's requirements in our place. God wants me thinking and speaking with Him always. God is good, the Source of all good. He controls the day. Our wishes do not.

Prayers are requests to a sentient entity to change the laws of the Universe in their favor....makes no rational sense.
