There is no evidence of the existence of god. However, it is impossible to prove that he does not exist either. A lot of people think this is a perfectly good reason to continue to believe in god.
My point is this:
It is also impossible to prove that The Invisible Pink Unicorn didn't create the heavens and earth either. In fact, if you just replace the word god with The Invisible Pink Unicorn in any religious assertion, you have an equally likely and valid statement.

Well.
First, we don't have any evidence of God's existence, because if we had, then it would not be God ('cause anly is evident what can be caught by our five senses and God can't be caught by them).
Second, of course God exists, always existed and will forever exist, even though we, human beings, do not have any evidence of it.
So, "our heart" is a literary construction. It's not a place where we fit things... The heart you refer to is an image; the thing that we have concretely is an organ. Thus, try to think over God through another way. This can very well be the faith way, or the reason way. But not the literary one. Okay??
Tnx and have a good night.

That is called 'faith' that God exists, what you're referring to as the existing within the heart. By your rationale, you could assume that most anything which you strongly believe in existed. Faith isn't evidence, it's a belief. If you truly wish to make that sort of correlation, you have to look outside yourself for the existence of God. i.e. sunsets, babies, fuzzy bunnies, kittens, blah blah blah.
You can't pull evidence for the existence of anything out of your heart/beliefs. Perhaps, if you say that the Heart, as a machine is evidentiary proof of the existence of God, you may be onto something, but merely because you(along with millions)believe it in your heart that doesn't hold much water in an argument.
If you consider that God is a construct of mankind, and your faith is a machine which is driving that construct, perhaps you could rationalize your proposal.
There's a philosophical argument known as "prime mover", check out the link below for a bit more on it.

Philosophers have argued about this for thousands of years.
Many say that we're born with the idea of God, and through the knowledge we gain by living we come to know God again.
That being said, Saint Augustine (haha I reference him all the time, but in some ways he was genius) said that in order for one to have true knowledge of God, one had to live the "the good life" and had to pray in order to receive God's grace, and once you had God's grace, you attained true knowledge (the knowledge of natural law) Augustine talked himself in circles sorta, as most philosophers did.
Anyway I'm far from the question you asked, which is a good one by the way.
In my opinion God is a learned thing.
I believe that through society and church and religions we come to know God.
If we innately had evidence that God existed, would we not all believe in the same God?
Would there be strife in the world due to religious conflict?
Does God not teach us though shalt not kill?
Wars over the Christian God were some of the bloodiest and most Gruesome wars. Just take a look at Ireland's religious history for example.
Again this is all my own opinion, I'm not a specialist by any means, just a philosophy student who enjoys the subject of theology.

God is our innermost Being, which is the Totality of Being, nonliteral, nonsensory, nonpersonal, without any attachment or conflict. Therefore God is our innermost Heart, the ultimate Center of our awareness. When we see through (understanding awareness) our own personality or ego, we are living God (Christ Jesus), the Divine in man. Such is realized by confronting, penetrating, understanding and resolving our split in consciousness (ego) through every moment we live. This is the true Way of the cross. For Such is a living cross. So by fulfilling the Way of the cross through our own existence on earth we become understanding Awareness (Living Jesus).

Our hearts are much like our brains, they are full of things we aren't even aware of. You know we use only a small portion of our brain, and I feel like we only use a small portion of what's truly in our heart as well. God's existence is in there for sure. Some find it easily while others are constantly looking, and still others will never care.

Does not your heart beat? Do you not live on a planet that gives you air to breath with food to eat and materials to shelter your head with? Do you not live at the exact perfect distance from a star that gives you day to see in and warmth to make you comfortable and stable at night? Is not this Star located in a part of the Milky Way galaxy that does allow us to observe the universe unobsecured? Is there not live abundant all over this planet? I think he exists all right. Do you not love?
(1Jo 4:8 )He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
(1Jo 4:16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Yes. There's a song that says we all have a God shaped hole in our hearts. It's true. Even Atheists go through life looking for something to fill them and make them truly happy but miss it in their rebellion. There is in our blue print/genetic make up, a need to have love, touch, caring and to reach out to a higher authority. Everyone, even babies show this. Just watch people for a day and you will see it in their goals, talk and the way they approach things.

Nope. The heart is an organ whose function is to pump blood throughout the body, much like a car's water pump. Nothing more, nothing less.

No. Just the same way you thought Santa once existed in your heart, but obviously he doesn't so no.
