Whoa, that's a tough one right there... I don't know what to tell you except don't throw in the towel just... yet.
Even when things seem insurmountable, it (life) has a way of working itself out somehow.
All you need is patience and a lot of faith.

All these happen to you because you don't accept the changes that occur in everybody's life. Yes, the time will come when everything you used to do in a period of your life stops working. It is time to change. First, accept the fact that the period in your life when everything was reduced to sex and drugs is over. You took so much from this world, it's time to give something back, don't you think so? Establish a goal for the next five years and try to achieve it. If I were you I would try to put myself at the service of the community and show people that rugs lead to self-destruction. There are so many institution which could use your life experience in this respect. Your business is failing? What are you doing to stop this process? Do something about it or start something else. You love your wife but you don't feel attracted to her and sex is boring? You just fell in a cliche: have a healthy sexual life! Who says that you must have sex every day or even every week? Only the men who are insecure try to have as much sex as one possibly can. Having sex is necessary, not compulsory.
I said too much, already. Accept the changes and make the best out of them. Cheers.

Wow! I have two suggestions:

1. It sounds like you might be suffering from depression. I recommend seeing a psychiatrist to see if they can help with some anti-depressants.

2. If you don't have any kids, how about chucking your entire lifestyle as it exists now. Leave your wife, move somewhere new, and start over doing something else completely. Start new friendships and relationships.

My first choice would be #1 though.

Follow up, sometimes it takes some experimentation with anti-depressents to find the right ones or right combos. Someone close to me took 3 psychiatrists and several combinations to get their medications right to be lifted out of their depression.

Everett H, Every human knows that the spirit of God dwells within their heart, for some it is buried under so many layers of doubt it cannot be seen from without but it is there none the less & you know it. I pray that you may experience the unconditional love of God in your heart that I have found in my own heart. Everett if you will pray directly to God for a teacher he will do so. The path way to God is not what most people say it is . listen to your own Heart. See www.stephen-kanpp.com/articles_to_read.htm and www.geocities.com/mihirig/siddhayoga.htm PS ask those who offer to help if they are still sinners,if they say yes, they can't help themselves let alone you. I am not a sinner,I have spoken the truth. whistle britches

Well you may not believe in God but God believes in you. As long as you’re alive you have a chance to turn things around in your life. If you ask of him he will answered. It doesn’t take much except showing some humility by bending the knees and bowing your head and asking Him that created you to take care of you. Learn what he has to offer and then by obedience just do it. It may seem hard but it truly is not as long as you keep him at the center. Other than that you truly do not have to many options open to you. I was looking at 2 years State for forgery and God made it go away to my surprise. I prayed to him about it and now I believe I owe my freedom to him for that. It’s not a matter of so much in belief but rather trust and the reasoning for trusting. All is not lost yet sir. You still have a chance. Change it. Only you can even all the odds are against you. The mans name is Jesus and he is your guide. Trust in him and what he did. It will turn around. I have faith in you that you can and so do Jesus. Just come to him and ask him to be in your life. What do you got to loose?

you may have a case of depression, try finding a doctor that you can confide in.

If not find something that makes YOU happy. A hobby perhaps, or something along those lines. Or try volunteering and helping out with a cause that you truly believe in (whether it be the cancer society, heart and stroke foundation, etc... Try something that makes you feel like you've accomplished something.

I wish you the best of luck in everything.

you have nothing left. happiness that is dependent on other people or things is worthless. happiness should come from inside you. it sounds like youve spent your life wanting somebody or something else to bring you happiness. you have done nothing worthwhile. nothing but consume. when a dog eats meat, a few hours later he is hungry again. he has to keep consuming to stave off hunger. you are the same. youve been taking without giving. youre caught in the same trap that countless other people have been caught in and countless more will be caught in. they grow up believing tha physical pleasure will bring them happiness. it does for a while but it soon fades. then they have to consume more to get the same effect. eventually they just consume out of habit. they dont get any effect from their consumption and have forgotten how to "just be happy". that is you.

Get a dog, read some books, move, buy a car, sell your house, go to France, just make a change. If the first change doesn't work, make another, keep going and going until you find your niche.

The best way to get through such a deep feeling is to write your way out. and nothing is supposed to bring happiness to you. change a few thoughts I'm certain there are a few you have been wanting to toss out . Writing and being honest with yourself. try it.
