I've always wondered what imagination is since I am told I lack it. So in general, what do you think imagination is. I'm going to stay just the way I am but I want to know what people think it is.

It is the ability to create a scenario without prior knowledge of it by your own experience.: the ability to write about or tell about an event/item that you have developed in your own mind wityhout doing/being it.

If you are an opera singer, you could tell about it. If you are NOT an opera singer, a person with a good imagination can imagine some of the difficulties, the blessings, the curses of that line of work, even though they have not LIVED it.

I imagine that someone who opts to remain unimaginative might be a bit of a stick in the mud. Who wants to hang out with someone who is so stuck in their own trip that they can't imagine having an imagination? Imagine that?

Can you see in memory the most beautiful sunset that you've ever seen? Can you remember the face of a loved one? Your child or love?

Was there a holiday that mattered to you in the past? Does it come back to you now and then? Do you like the feeling that comes with that memory?

When you 'wonder' about imagination do you think in terms of the definition of the word or do you wish that your wonder would blossom into an image? Can you see an image of an ideal vacation, automobile, a home to live in, a nice meal? Do you remember the images from the last movie you saw that you enjoyed? Could you write a story or a movie? Do you want to?

No imagination? I doubt that you are impaired. That is, unless you really want to be.
