everytime I ask a question ab. something that's obviously bothering me, they say it will all work out. but the fact is you don't really know. you can see and determine where your career is going to go but not whether you will find your special Somone. (just to give an example)

I love being realistic; i guess it hurts less when you get accustomed to what's really going on. Everyone has their own fate & unfortun. it doesn't always work out.

sure you may get hit by a truck or have a heart attack this afternoon and nothing will work out. after all nothing ever worked out so well for anyone who ever died young. and many people live their lives as utter failures.
but it is not very realistic (at least on America) to assume such a fate. chances are that if you are not in any way handicapped, well...it will all work out.
if you are in your late teens then thinking this way is pretty normal and temporary. i understand that it is a biological thing. if you are an adult you may have depression.
unless you are physically or mentally or emotionally or circumstantially or otherwise handicapped, you should soon recognize that the odds of a pretty good life are quite in your favor.

I think you worry to much about stuff you cant control and dont have control over the stuff that you should worry about.

I am not sure your question relates to truth and realism or whether it is more frustration.

Based on what you have said it would seem you are more frustrated with the dirrection your life is taking and that is something you can control.

If you do not feel you are getting the recognition at your work and your career has halted then find another job , or find out what you need to do to progress.

Work with your manager to set out a development plan with a performance review at the end of every say 3 months to see how you are going and what you still need to do.Get him to include any training you have to take and ask him if there is a business improvement project he can allocate to you or involve you in.

That way you will be able to have a say in your development at work and know where you are headed. It could very well be that you might need to take a course or even go back to school for a while to develop new skills that a higher position might require.

As far as relationships go, I have been divorced twice so I guess i am the last person to give advice in this department. That special someone is probably idealism but they reckon there is someone for everyone.

If you want to meet that special someone and havent yet, chances are she goes where you dont so change your outings dont keep going to the same bars or nightclubs, or hang out with the same old crowd.

There are plenty of singles clubs, dinner clubs, community groups get out, get involved, you might even grow as a person and get a bit more confidence.

Never forget this is your life and you are the driver , if you dont like the direction you are going you are the only one who can change it. Some people drift through life with others at the controls and they end up with what ever they get some take charge and get ahead and get everything they want.

You will never get exactly to where you want to go with someone else at the wheel.

Good Luck wiith it all.

Why do people have a problem w/ telling the plain truth'? It's because;..... the truth can be devastating, hurtful, and can shake a person to their very core (,ie) and make that person question their whole 'Existence'.... No one likes a mirror
held up in front of them.
On one hand your right;...with the 'Fate & Fortune' ,Ah ,no. it doesn't always work out.....However,. Have you tried thinking in terms of 'Cause & Effect'? I believe that there are many ways in which 'truth' can be delivered.( not to be confused w/Karma)please!)............I am also a realist... I am truthful ... I must be in the work that i do..

I think it's because people like to be consoled, and told that things are going to get better even if they're not necessarily. For some reason humans always have this innate desire to feel good, and therefore, are always looking for ways to assuage our disappointment. It's like society in general has a problem with just taking its lumps. There will be good times, and there will be bad. You just have to roll with it.
I guess it just helps some people to be ever optimistic.

Some people deny what they do not want to believe. Some people lie to comfort or protect others. And some people try and hide the truth, because most of the time, it is ugly.

Because people think in a dichotomous and discontinuous way. It takes training to think continuously and realistically. You are always reminded, psychobabelisticly, about the power of positive thinking. I prefer to think realistically, myself. Not looking through rose colored glasses, or looking through a glass darkly, but looking through a clear pane of glass.

Did you mean "pain truth"? or "plain, pain truth". The truth is that you can not know the truth until you get through the moment of question.when you question every step, you stumble, fall and get hurt.

Plain truth hurts and no one really likes to hurt another. so people try to console you by giving encouraging words

You're right. Most people don't want to accept it because it's depressing. I guess it goes against human nature to give up hope.

I'd like to know too. People find it necessary to lie about as much as they can get away with, it's sad.
