Performing Arts

Before I start I have an admin job. I use to be a singer in a rock band and I left because I was starting to find it boring the band were not very good at discusing Ideas. Ive always wanted to do something in performing arts at least as a hobby but im 21 and I have no hobbies. I see my friends allot and things but I just wish I did something as a hobby. Id really like to sing in a band or act but I dont know where to start. Im not an amazing singer but I can hold a note lol I think I sound just as good as some pop singers (not all no im not christina agulaira). But I am a good actor I always got good roles in shows at school and college. Where do I start? Any ideas. Id love to be like Avril lavigne or work on corrie - those are just dreams though as I have a mortgage and im realistic. Any ideas please.

Or is that only for text, in books and stuff?

If they do read music backwards, to they need to get it transposed especially if they want to play a western piece, or do they have to learn to read it left to right, top to bottom?

My best friends sister is getting married in 2 months and she asked me if I would play some solo acoustic guitar before the ceremony, and play a song as they walk down the aisle. No singing involved (thank god). I'm a decent guitar player, but I don't practice too much these days. She said I could play anything I want, probably like 4 songs, but I don't have any idea of instrumental type songs I can pull off...What do I do? I don't want to tell her no, but I'm a little nervous to play for 75 people, even though I've done it in the past.

We either want to sing, dance, or something else. My friend thinks we should get alot of people together and do the chacha slide and then I think we could do half of that and then break it into a remix...but she thinks that would be too complicated...
so now we dont know what to do. Help, give some helpful advice, or whatever!

One of my friends plays the keyboard and writes most of the music for his band, and I want to give him something which'll help him with it. I can only think of blank sheet music pages and maybe some blank CDs on which to record the songs, but those seem trite and a wee bit boring. Is there anything else that I can give him, maybe a bit more special or personal?
