Robin Williams.
This man might as well be one of the forefathers of our american culture. Over the course of 30+ years, he has had numerous hit movies, a hit tv show, dozens of vocal appearance, appeared on broadway several times in his one man comedy routines, and really helped to shape the way our "comic-centric" shows act and conduct themselves today.

Phyllis Diller , her name is funny. The fact she is ?? years of age and still making people laugh is also hee-larious. Her plastic surgery(surgeries) is not funny, but her honesty that she had it done is.
She has a pulse and that's funny in the best way- she probably laughed at the grim reaper and he left her alone.
The casts of MAD TV and Christopher Guest's movies are tops. Steve Martin, David Letterman and Bill Murray are also standard bearers for comedy gold also.

Dane Cook is the funniest stand up comedian because he uses real life things for his acts.

Red Skelton - OK I'm an old fogie but he was hilarious! Not only that he made people genuinely laugh - without being crude, vulgar, insulting, or mean spirited or gross.
I wish comics of today could do that.

Jaime Foxx, Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock (sometimes)...i can relate to most of their jokes and they are just too hilarious!
