If you are going to be anyone in music you will need private lessons...unless you just happen to be gifted by God.
If you truly love music then you will get a job and pay for it. That's what I did.

Okay. Do you love singing choir music? Or would you rather sing pop? If you want to do pop, just do American Idol. If you like choir and/or classical singing, stay in choir, even though you hate the people. If you can talk to your teacher, see if she can recommend a private teacher. Take private lessons. They may cost quite a bit of money, but it might be time for you to get a part time job to cover it. If your teacher doesn't want to give you any recommendations, find a local music store. They usually hire people to teach lessons, and you should be able to get in there.
I wish you luck!

Try out for American Idol next year. It's not that far away; they tape about 5 months in advance. Take a singing lesson first to see if you're really good. Maybe more than one. You don't have to win Idol; if you make the top 10, you're in! Good luck to you.

I sing for a living and never had one lesson. I agree with someof the others, stay in school, get a job and pay for your own if you really want lessons. And please use spell check!!

First of all .... stay in school. Second, maybe you could get a job so that you can pay for your private instructor.
