I'm a senior voice performance major who has always done well in college music classes, never receiving a grade less than an A- in private voice...In October I gave an excellent senior voice recital. Then, before my final performance the last week of school I had bronchitis which temporarily effected my voice quality when I sang for my final...today I received my final grades and ended up with a B+ in private voice this semester. (I've heard before that in order to teach on a college level, one has to have earned only A's in that particular field which they desire to teach. Teaching on a college level, and performing, is what I plan to eventually undertake.) When other colleges see my transcript someday, will one B+ impact their decision to hire me? I'm also planning to attend grad school. If I receive A's this coming spring semester, and in grad school next fall, will only one bad grade matter, even if they see that I coincidently received it the same semester of my recital?

I ask this because i posted the following question under two categories: Performing Arts and Music.
"Who do you consider a worthy successor to Willi Boskovsky in promoting the music of the Strauss family?"
Under Performing Arts I received two answers, both irrelevant; under Music there was no response at all.
I'm very surprised.

I've been playing clarinet for 6 years and I want to branch out to alto sax. I'm in high school and will need it for concert and marching band, and possibly jazz. Unfortunately, I can't be spending much more than $500, unless it's an incredible deal. I'm fine with a used sax if you know of a trustworthy seller. However, I'd rather not use eBay. Any help is appreciated.

I heard a wonderful program on the radio during Chanukah, with a song from the 15th century based on Hannah's lament, but they only played part of it. The group was called Western Wind. Does anyone know availability of recordings or sheet music for songs like this? I would like to get some not only for personal use, but to donate to the local library and schools. I want there to be more Sephardic and Jewish music accessible to my community.

at my school, we have auditions for bands (yes we have multiple ones) right now, i'm second chair(used to be first :( in freshmen band(they stick all the freshmen together the first year). i'm trying to get into the top band and i'm so nervous! the top band has INCREDIBLE players and i think they went to italy last year? next year, there are only two flute holes.my band director has already said the the top three flute chairs of freshmen band should already be in it, but the problem is, there are three of us!right now, i play on a sonare (it's a branch of powell). how can i improve my tone and technique in like three months? and also, what type of piece should i choose to audition with? please help!
