Hello!
I'm trying to figure out which of the two vocal ranges would have the better music to fit my particular voice. My range is G2-F4 (with C4 being middle C in this notation). I notice when I sing along with songs that tenor fits more than alto (they go WAY too high for me), and I was wondering which may be the better choice of the two.

Thanks and have a great New Year!

I got an accoustic one for x-mas. I dont know how to play even though I played the first line of Jingle Bells by accident. I CAN'T go to lessons, I've got loads of other stuff to do. How can I teach myself and is it hard?

I'm planning on filming a small film. im in college, with a video camera, editing software...etc.

the only thing missing is the story. how do you create yours? do you base it on the people you have to work with? or do you just create the craziest story and whatever your mind produces?

i'm having a hard time writing. tips?

I have finally finished a musical that I have been writing for three years. I am using the music of another artist that inspired me to tell this story. Aside from getting a US copyright for the dialogue and the permission from the artist to use their music. I need to know what else I should do or whom to see. I am from the nyc area and am hoping to know what to do next. What is the process for doing this, how can I really make this happen, what will get my foot in the door. Would a power point presentation be something to add on to musical to sway the labels that own the music, to let them know where this idea came from. Or should I hope the writing it self will be enough to win them over? Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I am coming down with a cold two days before I have to sing at a wedding. I am a trained opera singer, so pls understand that I am not 'losing voice' due to any bad techniques. But I need help on how to reduce edema to the vocal folds without risking vocal hemmorhage when I sing.

I have mild laryngitis -- I can technically sing, but my head resonance has gone to crap and my control is lessened due to swelling of the cords. Range is down by a whole step, as I have to start covering on F#4 instead of G#4, and I can't seem to hold the breath very well, presumably because my cords are swollen and can't close all the way.

This is due to a virus:
My mom came down with something very similar on Christmas (of course), but I did not know about it until after I had been around her for a while. She lost her speaking voice a couple of days later, and is still recovering. I have no allergies or respiratory disorders.

Anyone have ideas on how I can heal by Saturday? Or at least sing?

I don't know the names of the notes.
My dad just showed me where you put your fingers and what such.
I can read music because I have played the trumpet for over 4 years, But I don't know how to read tabs. I have been trying to learn the basic cords and get to know the fret board. But it's all so confusing. Any tips? Website? Books?
Everything helps because I really plan on sticking with the guitar, music interests me greatly.

Is it a bass guitar i am looking for to play that crunchy sound at the beginning of the beautiful people (marilyn manson)? Where the drums come first but then comes that heavy guitar kicking in, what guitar is that, electic or bass (with amp connected to it)
I am going to get a bass guitar knowing the deep bass type of sound without the amp.
I also know that twiggy ramirez plays the bass but i don't know whether an electric guitar produces that heavy sound or the bass.
In other words i'm getting a bass guitar while being confused!
A little help then?

are their great songs still played in the english dance local or pubs, besides the ugliest britpop junks ? these bands have been forgotten forever for 30 years ...like the lost pearls that had fallen from the table.

I have been told that I have a fantastic opera voice by many people, I have been in two professional operas, but in performing careers it is only fulfilling if people actually enjoy what you are doing... so who actually likes opera?

I have played clarinet for almost four years, and I've decided that I need a better mouthpiece than the one I have. I have been contemplating on buying the Selmer Crystal mouthpiece, but I don't know if it's a good mouthpiece or the right one for me. What do you think?

I've been taking vocal lessons for five years now, and I know I can sing, and that the people who have heard me preform enjoyed listening to my voice. But everytime I go up there to preform even when I know the song inside out I get nervous, it doesn't make my throat tense up, but I keep getting nervous and appearing as though I want to hide from the audience. I've had people try to hepl me before but I seem to be appearing even more shy every time I preform! Forexample I'll be trying to stand up straight when I sing, but I can't get myself to staighten up, my hands start to shake, I can't look up and I constantly stare at the microphone. Does anyone have any advice on how to get over this? I'd call it stage fright but I'm not afraid to go up and sing I just look as though I am. ^^;

I have no idea what these things are called, but if you know enough about violins to answer my question, you will probably know what I am talking about. The rope wraps around a button at the base of the viola, and I guess that a special cord is required.

A mobile phone company sent me a bill of a contract phone without discussing that contract with me or even discussing the price plan with me and wreorst of all not even sendind me a phone.I refused to pay the bill after contacting them. They explained they ASSUMED i will like it because they had contacted me on phone to discuss the contract and unfortunately i was busy and promised to contact them and i did not.I think that it is the customer who should decide on a price plan or whether he/she wants the contract. My problem is that i have been taken to a debt collector and i was threatened by them to idea pay it or have a bad credit history.I paid immediately and yet still they went ahead and took the decision to give me a bad credit rating. What should i do?

I just started playing the trumpet a few months ago and right now I can't play very loudly. My fortissimo sounds like a mezzo piano and my forte fortissimo sounds like a mezzo Forte. Are there any excercises that can help me increase my volume? I desperately need to increase it because half of the trumpets in the school band are graduating at the end of this school year. As for the second question it's just a simple yes or no question I just need reassurance on this one point. As you develop the umbeture(spelling?) your range increases, right?
