They have "list price" at around $900 - and they are selling for 135. Hmmmm.. I just want a trumpet to have around for fun, I don't have a band to play with or anything. They have the colored horns. Are they at least decent enough to play??

I've been playing cornet for four years, Considering switching to trumpet. I'm not sure what I should look for in a trumpet. Also, is a silver trumpet better?

My inability to sing has made me increasingly bitter over the years, and I've reluctantly decided to try and do something about it.

I was wondering if there are any exercises I can practice at home to help me sing within my range. I know professional lessons are the best route to go, but as a college student I don't exactly have the cash to drop on those. Besides that, I sing like a strangled cat, and I'm not sure I want to drop hundreds of dollars to find out something I already knew.

Any advice, singers of the Yahoo world?

I recently finished a feature film screenplay and I'm concerned about the length. When I wrote it in a notebook it was 92 pages long but then when I typed it, it became only 45 pages long. I know that the average is about 1 minute screen time per page, but mine is about 2 minutes per page, some pages are longer about 5 minutes. Making it 90 to 100 minutes long, so thats the average.

Should I be concerned about this or should I just write and whatever length it ends up being is it's length?

thanks

I have a band concert tonight, and I have a solo.

I am a trained pianist and I know how to prepare. I have memorized the solo, and by myself can play it backwards and forwards, in my sleep, with my hands tied behind my back etc...the problem is that due to the rehearsal schedule and the late date that the decision that I would play this solo I have only played it with the band four times.

They are the variable that I am not quite sure of.

Are there any inner game techniques or techniques you have come to yourself? For me the best antidote to stage fright is preperation, and I have prepared by myself as much as I can. But I don't feel like I have that last bit of preperation.

I want to use this though as a test of my confidence as a player, so I don't want to just ask another player to play it for me or with me (and that wouldn't be fair to the other player, anyway!) I know that I can do it, but I am just more nervous than I should be.

I'm in a presentation at my drama group. Coming to this are several west end performers and teachers at drama schools. I am doing a monologue. It's Electra from the play Electra by Sophocles. If you know the play it's when she's telling the chorus how much she hates her mother for the first time.
If you don't know the play you could still help, Electra is set in ancient Greece, electra's (my character) father was murdered by her mother and her mother's lover. Her younger sister has also died and she has just recieved the news that her brother has died. He was her one hope of getting revenge on her mother and justice for her father, without him she has nothing. In my monologue she is angry and telling anyone who'll listen exactly how she feels. Electra is rich (she's a princess) but my interpretation of her is that she has too much on to concentrate on her appearance! Please help me! I'm thinking of having a more modern costume and would rather not where a toga!
Thank you! xx

my school is putting on a production of guys and dolls, and we can't figure out how to do the sewer scene. we have EXTREMELY limited wing space and no way to stow things above (you know, the screen things). a panel with a sewer backdrop is too big to fit, and we run out of ideas after that. we could always opt for a cop-out solution, like having a water-dripping sound effect and perform in front of the closed curtain, but it would be great if there were other options. oh, and my school is very much over-focused on athletics, so the arts don't get a whole lot of funding. thus, any reasonable solution would have to be cheap.
if anyone could suggest something, that would be awesome. thanks!

I'm not sure how many songs to do or if I should probably take a break during that hour...like an intermission. I need any advice, any sort of guidance as to what preparation I need!! Thanks!! :)
