I signed up for three. Bought some stuff. They send a deal every month, sometimes two. You call the number and tell them not to send books they are pushing, but for some reason books show lup about a third of the time. Then you mail back. YOu cannot refuse as they say the PO may not return. So then you get a bill and collection company. I use the tag that shows I mailed it. Then send copy of that to them, still jerking me around. Now one of them will no longer use phone service and you have to mail slip in so they won't send it.

I called and was told PO might keep it nad they never got it and i explained I had sent the slip in. So I cancelled and then told they valued me and wanted to just send the list of books each month.

I asked the person if they do this on purpose knowing 25% of people will just pay for books and then the ones that pay to send back they tell them they didn't recieve the books and 25% of them pay. Seems funny that I always cancel before the date.

I really want to write like a novel for like tweens, since I am a fellow one. Have you ever been in that place where you finished a book and said "I want to write a book too." And like start writing random things down? I tried like a year ago and never finished. i want it to have 24 chapters. :) So anyone? repaet question: Have you ever written a book ( not published or published) and what was it about?

P.S. Mine will be about a girl named Lily. Don't know the story line yet lol. Maybe she lives on Mackinac Island in Michigan and discovers secrets..hmm...lol.

What is the importance of Elrond's farewell words to the Company? As you read ahead, what importance do these words take on?
He basically said that Frodo is the ring-bearer and the others are there to accompany him, to help him along the way, that he is responsible for not letting anyone else handle the ring.
I don't know the importance of his words...could someone please help me with this question?

I am going to write an essay comparing some serial killer's literacy work,so I need some play, story, poem or any form of literacy that was written by a serial killer/murderer. I was thinking about things like "Richard Mcbeef" and "Mr. Brownstone" by Cho Seung-Hui.

P.S stories and plays would be the best, since I planned to compare the similarities and differences of the plots and the character. If not, novels about serial killer will also be fine, but then I will need 2 novels to compare.

Here's the deal, I was supposed to read this by this coming Friday and I am only three chapters through. I know the general idea of what the book is about, but I need to know more so that I can critique it accurately. At this point, there is no way I can read this in 2 days, I've got an 11 page research paper due tomorrow, and two more tests this week, and well as an exegetical paper due Friday. This critique is worth a good percent of my grade for the class and I need to do well on it, but I just don't have the time to read it. If any of you have previously read it and have any thoughts or comments regarding some of the issues in the book, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not one to ask for homework help or things like these, but let's face it- I am desperate..

Thank you in advance for all your input!

I have a newspaper clipping from the early 80's and I'm pretty convinced this is the original publication. I don't have the full article, or the name of the newspaper. There is no title on the poem, only a sentence that reads "Let's call it, unsolved mysteries of anatomy". Have re-posters simply used that as a default title? Give credit where credit is due!

VERBATIM:
""Where can a man buy a cap for his knee,
Or the key to a lock of his hair?
Is the crown of your head where jewels are found?
Who travels the bridge of your nose?
If you wanted to shingle the roof of your mouth,
Would you use the nails in your toes?
Can you sit in the shade of the palm of your hand
Or beat on the drum of your ear?
Can the calf in your leg eat the corn off your toe?
Then why not grow corn on the ear?
Can the crook in your elbow be sent to jail?
If so, just what did he do?
How can you sharpen your shoulder blades?
I'll be darned if I know -- do you? -- Andrew M., Hightstown, N.J.""

Anybody else love those lines..... just finished those books earlier this year after a friend got me to read them, teh concept sounded naff to me...but i gave them a go and was blown away!!! They've now become my all time favourite books....first books to move me to real tears- Eddies death, Jakes death, Oys death! Was sitting with tears streaming down my face....dont think going too far to say I really felt like these characters were friends, never liked characters so much! and such great quotes!!
Only gripe I think many have, is the ending, spent the whole book wondering what was at the top and felt kinda numb when first read it.... and yes ive read all the stuff about the meaning SK intended, but it felt like a major cop out, kinda like I really couldnt end this.... however a naff Hollywood style ending like meeting God or something would have ben a worse killer so perhaps I shouldnt complain... Would love to hear opinions from other ppl that loved the books
