Good books as in not just for entertainment, like those weird girl journal books, or the clique etc. Books that don't neccesarily need to be very educational, nor by Shakespeare, or Dickens etc. but, you know, just good, classic, books.

I always liked to have a pea snack like in Dubliners, and when I was a wee child I wanted to eat turkish delight after reading the Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe. Got any others?

I like books by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Micheal Cricton, Anne Rice , Ray Bradbury etc...
Basically like horror, science fiction, fantasy (sensible ones not books filled with terms that only a true fan could understand).
Dont want to read romance or bios or real life stories .. Have the newspaper and readers digest for that ;)

Charles Willeford mentions an orthodox Jew's favourite brand of tuna fish - not kosher (no scales)! Ian Fleming seems to think that in Istanbul, the Golden Horn separates Europe from Asia. Can you think of similar examples?
