A Memory of Light, A "Wheel of Time" book, is scheduled to be released in early 2009. In March of 2006 Robert Jordan (whose real name is James Oliver Rigney, Jr.) was diagnosed with primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy, and was told his median life expectancy, with treatment, was approximately 4 years. However, Mr. Rigney declared his personal goal was to beat the illness and to live at least another 30 years. In late December 2006 he announced that his chemotherapy was proving successful and that his Lambda light chain levels were almost normal again, which gives hope to many fans of the series. A Memory of Light is set to be the conclusion of the Wheel of Time series, but he does mention that there may be other "outrigger" novels in the same "world". Writing as Robert Jordan, Mr. Rigney has plans on creating a new two-trilogy series called, "Infinity of Heaven" that will be based in a whole other, High Fantasy setting, completely separate from the Wheel of Time books.
