I have read the Writers Market books, Guide to Literary Agents and searched through Preditors and Editors and AgentQuery. However, my concern is the query letter. I need to polish it up, those books help, but they don't tell me how to write a fabulous query letter. Being that I have never published a book before, my writing credits on the letter come out dry. What can I do to polish my letter or where can I find an excellent sample? Or a website with samples or good advice?

I'm trying to find the title of a young adult's book I love when I was a kid. It was about a teen in I think the 1700's. She was anorexic, and she would only eat white foods. About halfway through, she kind of "loses herself" so the book goes from first-person to third. I really loved this book, it would be awesome if someone could come up with a title. I think it had something to do with a quilt.

... in the context of the Sandman Graphic novels?

One aspect:
Morpheus decided to die rather than change or quit his job as the Dream King rather than merely quit like his brother did, Destruction. In the story, even Lucifer was able to give up Hell.

Second aspect:
Morpeus killed his son Orpheus (at Orpheus's request) with the knowledge that the Furies (oh so soory, I mean the kindly ones) will punish him for it. Morpheus had the choice to merely keep running from them, but in the end he chose to let them kill him.

Your thoughts?

Is there any way to limit the damage done to a book I borrowed from a friend? There was a coffee spill in the house and some seeped into the edges of pages. The book is hardback and the paper is that thick kind, like old library books.

i have nearly finished reading his diaries, and i feel that it is a very personal, intimate account of his life, which to me should not have been published. reading what he was like i think he would have been appalled to know that his diaries were made public knowledge. some of it is shocking and they reveal medical and intimate details in many parts. his own sister did not want the diaries published!!
one thing i was suprised to learn was that he hated the 'carry on' films.
your thoughts?????

How do I overcome a writer's block? I need to write quite a lot of stories and poems, but I don't seem to have any good ideas at this time. How do i overcome this, and come up with some good stories and poems of my own?

Advice/Tips will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My sister has a project due tomorrow (technically today, since it's 2:30 am), and I've just finished typing up her report (since I'm the fastest typist in the house), and now I find that she's left out some vital bits of info from her bibliography.

Portraits of the Presidents, by Hugh Sidey. Need publisher and location of publisher.

Book of American Presidents (I'm assuming that's the actual title). Need publisher, location of publisher, and name of author.

I've been looking and looking, and I'm trying to keep the typing and mousework to a minimum, as my carpal tunnel is acting up.

I am looking for literature (important: fiction, not religious of scientific writings), that has some concepts, ideas about how the world was created. It should regard our reality, so Silmarilion and similar, that talks about creation of some imagined realms, are not what I am looking for.

in this poem :

As I Grew Older
It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun--
My dream.
And then the wall rose,
Rose slowly,
Slowly,
Between me and my dream.
Rose until it touched the sky--
The wall.
Shadow.
I am black.
I lie down in the shadow.
No longer the light of my dream before me,
Above me.
Only the thick wall.
Only the shadow.
My hands!
My dark hands!
Break through the wall!
Find my dream!
Help me to shatter this darkness,
To smash this night,
To break this shadow
Into a thousand lights of sun,
Into a thousand whirling dreams
Of sun!
