Hi! I am looking for some good books to read that are non-fiction in nature. Right now I am really interested in anything that is autobiographical in nature. I am interested in world events and just finished several books about women in Saudi Arabia (The Princess Trilogy by Jean Sasson) and another about women in Iraq. These books were more autobiographical in nature so this is in a sense what I am looking for. But, I am open to anything...if you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it...even if it doesn't describe what I mentioned above. I am always looking for a good read. A favorite author or your favorite book is a welcome suggestion as well. Thanks for any help you can give me! Happy Holidays, everyone!

Is there a web that has books to read there on the site.? If the type is large enough, I could read that way. I am having withdrawals from not reading a good novel. Its making me sad and grouchy. I thought either Yahoo or Google was going to start scanning books.

I think that he must have a little good because of how he spoke about the Dark Lord in Harry's first "Mind reading" or "Mind Blocking" lesson.

The kid decides that the older man was at one time a very well know ***** League player. I do not remember much else. Except that the man tells the kid that he is mistaken.

Any ideas?

If not, what genre do you enjoy? I personally love to read science fiction and fantasy, especially "Doctor Who" and "Harry Potter" books. I also enjoy reading Westerns, Mysteries, and even a little History once in awhile.

Please don't say the Bible or anything like that. All religious books are based on someones faith, and it's wrong to put any of them down.

I have just finished reading the book Eragon by Christopher Paolini and I LOVED it! I am going to buy Eldest next and then the third book when it comes out. I have a hard time finding books that grab my attention like this and I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for good books I may enjoy.
I also like the Harry Potter books and am reading Chronicles of Narnia. I like stories about Wizards,Dragons,Elves,Magic, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a few really good books that I bought from Borders. It just takes me about 2-3 days to polish them off and I do not re-read them. Are there any organisations that I could donate these books too, particularly to help with illiteracy or low income households?
I live in St. Louis, MO but I am willing to ship the books anywhere that the need is.

As a Christian I love the books and think most arguments are ridiculous, yet some believe it subversively leads young people to witchcraft. I think it's some of the best children's (pre-adolescent) lit. ever and will encourage my children to read it. What are your thoughts?

I remember my friends sister was reading it. She was describing it to us - it's a fictional novel - It was about a circus family and the husband and wife would display her aborted fetuses and deformed children. Sounded kind of cruel, but she said it was actually kind of a love story. Any ideas? I've searched under the names I listed in my question, but haven't had any luck. Thanks.
