Unsure and Insecure

I am unsure,
Insecure.

You tell me one thing,

My heart is pulled,
In too many ways.

Decisions confront me,
And you are no help.

It seems you want me to do nothing,
To stay here with you forever.

But I have decisions to make,
I want to go places in this life.

You just make me more unsure,
More insecure.

Sometimes all we need,
Is an opinion to make us sure.

I am unsure, insecure,
I don't know what to do.

All tangled inside,

I have recently begun reading, and consequently fallen in love with, Khalil Gibran's The Prophet. It's mind-blowing stuff, and I was wondering if anybody can recommend some titles along those lines that I might enjoy. It's really helping me out with my overall take on life. I'm looking for the name of a book published in the early 1980s that was about making love and pregnancy. It was a hardcover book; and the color was rose or light purple. Inside were beautiful illustrations of a pregnant woman and a man and woman making love. These weren't humorous but rather looked like oil paintings.
