I would like nonfiction titles...but fiction is okay too. I need to read a few for my english class (we get to pick) and I don't know of any good ones that I should read. Any suggestions would help

Thanks :)

I really enjoyed the autobiography of Bill Peet, a cartoonist. Also, I would try the classics, such as Pride and Prejudice, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, and of course Harry Potter if you haven't already read that blissfully wonderful series... : )

Three suggestions:
To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
The Hot Zone
The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbra Kingsolver
The Hot Zone might be non-fiction, but I haven't read it in a while. These are my favorite books of all time.

Fiction try: TEMPLE by Matthew Reilly, fantastic read. AMAZONIA by James Rollins, another good read. SIGN OF THE CROSS by Chris Kuzneski, just came out and blows the doors off the Da Vinci Code. Have fun and happy reading.

i really read fiction, but some of these are more realistic than others:

the ghost ship is really good if ur into mystery and adventure and susupense

the hero and the crown is a really fiction one, but its still good. its kind of hard to understand at first though.

nancy drew books are always good.

the lion the witch and the wardrobe is good and has a good meaning in the background... so are the other books in the series.

a realistic fiction that i like... (i read it a couple of years ago) is "THE LANDRY NEWS"

good luck... let me know if you need more suggestions. =]

for sheer word engineering, and fanciful story line, tom? robbins, even cow girls get the blues, can't be beat
for a good informative historical fiction, michner's hawaii is his best, tho all michner is worth reading.
for easy to use, helpful information, harvey mackays, beware of the naked man who offers you the shirt off his back, and, how to swim with sharks without getting eaten alive, are tough to beat.
3 genres, 3 authors, 4 titles
cowgirls is a fun book to read.
