The Lorax was one of my favorite.
How ahead of it's time it was. Now more than ever we need someone to speak for the trees.

I remember The Lorax being an assigned reading for me in early elementary school-- it was actually one of my least favorite books because it was somewhat dark and introspective. Naturally, my appreciation for the book has grown with time, yet the political undertones were a bit obscure for me as a child. I vividly remember it scaring me, actually.

Lorax was cool.
off topic
You don't allow email and I wanted to give my opinion on the litvinenko murder:
sis or cia seem more suspect than russians b/c why use Po210?
There are a zillion ways to kill someone. Po210 leaves a trail straight to wherever the guilty party wants it to lead. Too easy!!
Litvinenko was killed to frame Putin.
But Putin could be sending a message vis a vis mafia don?
It would be interesting to see the isotopic analysis (traces of other isotopes within the Po210) as compared to sources from various supplies.

I didn't like it as much as some other Dr. Seuss books as a child, but now I love it. I have one of those "Magic scarf" things, and to this day I call it a "Thneed".

Very good. I think I might still have a copy of it upstairs (I'm a bit of a book hoarder). I also used to have a cartoon of it somewhere on tape.
(As I type, I am wearing a thing that I refer to as my thneed).
